Hi,

I currently have a M2 Bullet as a client linked to a Bullet2 HP that doesnt seems to want to keep internet going. The strange part, the link never falls. pings pass all the time and rarely fail, but internet does fail after about 10 minutes,AP assigns ip's and dns other clients are working great and dont loose internet, only this M2 client in particular with no frills ( no mschap auth ect...)

The "client" M2 has Firmware Version v24-sp2 (06/14/11) std - build 17201 and is activated. Connected as a client and bridged networking. regular WPA passworded connection.

The "AP" has AirOs Firmware Version: XS2.ar2316.v4.0.4974.110823.1727

the real problem is simply that the client M2 get internet for about 10 mins then has no internet connectivity, but pings to gateway are not droping.

Anyone ?

Hi... try to install the ath9k version, it might fix the issue.

If not, please give us all the details of you configuration.

Thanks, Michel.

No athx9k did not solve the issue. its seems everytime i loose internet, i have to refresh ( on xp ) the connection and it starts again, for about a few mins, then stops. pings to GW never drop, but ping to internet stop after a few mins. once refreshed all starts again for a few mins. Rolling Eyes

im getting a little frustrated LOL.

anyhoo, here are some screenshots of config

Ok.. lot of things to change :

Wireless Network Mode : BG-Mixed
TX Power : try with 8dB (I have a link of 13Km with 8dB !!!)
Antenna gain : 0 dB

Sensitivity ACK : 2000 (What is the distance between the AP and Client ?)

MTiK Compatibility : Enable

Give it a try like that and report.
Thanks, Michel.

PS: have fun

ok I've changed those particular settings and still the same issue.
For a while a thought it might be cables, so I changed em all lol, but still same issue. I even changed power supply for POE ..its pretty strange since WIFI link is always up which also looks fine since I can access the web interface of the M2 (from the other side of the link from the baststation side)). pings all fine all the time never cuts, but the net cuts, last a while and cuts.
NAT issues from within the router?
route table looks normal.
im at a loss for words. I mean, its not my first DDWRT setup on this network I have a Linksys WRT54G setup as a repeater and its fine.. no issues there..its about 400M out

Ok, here is this setup that giving me problems.

M2 bullet (client bridge routed) on a 12db panel antenna, fed with POE (18v) on a 15ft cable(rj45) to the bullet , poiting at basestation which is a bullet HP on an 14db Omni antenna ect..
Distance is about 300M. and set at 300M
link is beatiful with 44SNR 50% Qual. CCQ is 98-100%

maybe RTS issues? or am I going the wrong direction?

Ok... so if the link is fine... I have a stupid question : what do you mean losing by losing internet access ?

Do you mean you can't get access to a www.xyz.com ? but that you can ping it ? What about a tracert to see what happens ?

It looks more as an issue with DNS. You could put a fixed dns server address into the XP PC card ! Or... you could try updating also the drivers of the particular card.

Let me know after testing what I wrote. BTW, when you lose internet access ( ? ) try to proceed with tracert to see if you can access the site you'are looking for. Then will know it is a DNS issue.

Thanks, Michel

Sash, you might be a nice guy, but instead of telling "right" "wrong", or answering in a dirty way to people asking for help, you should give more details when you said something.

My link is working fine, and I am on project deploying 15K clients into a WiFi network, I do believe I have some kind of knowledge about it. Furthermore, when you will have 28 years of IT on your background, you might know that not anyone has your skils, and you should put yourself at their level.

So, either you something to say that will help a guy using DD-WRT. either don't talk.

BTW : dd-wrt has lost many sells because of you attitude on the forum. Sad, but true.

PS: still waiting a reply to the mp I sent you...

Regards, Michel.
