I have a WRT54G-TM Router running "DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/12/10) mega - build 14929". This serves as my Main/Core Router and is attached to my cable modem. I would like to extend the wireless signal within my home and have connected one of the LAN port of a second router (WRTU54G-TM) via a WIRED connection to the LAN Port on the WRT54G-TM (Main/Core Router).

This is what I have done and want to know if this is the correct approach:

1. I have the Second Router (WRTU54G-TM) setup with the same "Wireless Network Name (SSID)" as the main Router (WRT54G-TM).

2. I have identical "Host Name" on BOTH Routers.

3. The "Wireless Channel" is 1 for the Main Router and 11 for the WAP (Second Router).

4. The second Router is put in the "Bride" mode, with the Firewall disable. Both Routers are on the same subnet (192.168.1.x).

The problem I having is as I move from the main Router to the WAP, the wireless Client (an Android Phone in this case) disconnects from the main Router and quickly signs on to the WAP (second Router). I would like it to seamlessly switch over, so that if I'm on a VOIP call, it doesn't drop the call when it re-register with the WAP or vice-versa. Is there anyway to accomplish this with a wireless Access Point?

I want to use the DD-WRT Router as my main Router as far as extending the wireless signal throughout my house. Any suggestion as to the best way to accomplish my goal?
