Dear Guys,
i just upgraded from stock Buffallo branded dd-wrt (build 14xxx) to Brainslayer build 19519. I'm using two Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH routers as a WDS bridge like this:
CableModem <--> WDSap <--> WDSclient <--> desktop(win7)/server(linux)
I always had problems (on buffallo dd-wrt) with lossing internet connection when starting downloads on my desktop which takes all of my 32mbit internet speed (using usenet with sabnzbd). I always had to restart the WDSclient to restore the connection. After upgrading to brainslayer these problems seem to be solved! so far, so great.
Now i've got 3 other problems/questions:
1) DNSmasq as DHCP is not working. When i activate this funtion using web admin tab setup -> basic the router stops offering DHCP. I am using udhcpd now and its working. But i want DNS to update entries for DHCP clients, so i need DNSmasq DHCP service (i think)
2)
Port forwarding is only working if the client has an DHCP adress. I set up static IP on a windows VM and set up some port forwarding for it. This VM had internet connection and was reachable from inside LAN. But Port forwarding does not work. When i set up an static DHCP entry for this VM in dd-wrt...port forwarding works.
Is this a feature or a bug?
3)
i just upgraded my internet connection to 100mbit down/5mbit up. My WDS is set to N-Only in 40MHZ Turbo Modus. It does not serve any WLAN clients, it is only WDS. Will this WDS COnnection be strong/fast enough to bring 100mbit to my desktop?
Thanks in advance, have a nice day !
