Your problem is the baudrate of the serial connection... dd-wrt kernel uses 115200 and redboot 9600, so adjust your terminal prog accordingly !
If you had read the forum numerous posts address this problem !
i tried using telnet, but im hooking up through my ethernet cable (wether it be a norm. one or a crossover) and im not sure what to set the ips up to. i tried the ones that i set in the fconfig, and nothing.
anybody??
this is what my fconfig should look like (what i set it too)
Code:
RedBoot> fconfig
Run script at boot: true
Boot script:
Enter script, terminate with empty line
>>fis load -l vmlinux.bin.l7
>>exec
>>
Boot script timeout (1000ms resolution): 10
Use BOOTP for network configuration: false
Gateway IP address:
Local IP address: 192.168.1.254
Local IP address mask: 255.255.255.0
Default server IP address: 192.168.1.166
Console baud rate: 115200
GDB connection port: 9000

Update RedBoot non-volatile configuration - continue (y/n)?
