Last night, my Linksys GL (with the SP1 firmware) had a strange problem.

Wireless connectivity worked fine. I turned off my laptop.
I decided to turn on my Xbox to play online...the Xbox could not connect to Xbox Live.

Turned my laptop back on and it could not connect to the AP.
Tried site surveys for 10 minutes and I could not see my network. (from the laptop)

I used a desktop that is directly connected to the AP to reboot it via the Administration page.
It did not fix the problem.

I forced a brutal reboot by unplugging the power cable, but it did not fix the prolem.
I checked the Wireless status page and I noticed there was no sent or received packets after those reboots. A bit like if the radio refused to transmit or receive. So, I did a site survey via the status Web page and found the AP could survey my site without problem.

After that, I was tired and pissed off and I went to bed.

This morning, everything seems to work fine again. :)

Any ideas?

It just happened again this morning.

Suddenly, my laptop and all other wireless clients disassociated from the AP.

The AP would no longer shows in site surveys.

15 minutes later, everything was fine again.

Very troublesome...

I just reduced radio power to 56 mW. I'll see if that makes things more stable...

Which other build besides 23 SP1 Final could I try?

It seems 23 SP1 Final has some minor issues with WPA...

Try the build from untested_alpha_unstable/dd-wrt.v23 SP1 multilanguage/2006 - 0626

Thanks...I was thinking about trying the 2006 - 0704 generic...

Unless someone tells me it's too raw for the moment...

So, after trying the latest build of v.23 SP1, I reverted to v.23.

The original v.23 works fine.

So, there appears to be something in v23 SP1 that breaks things for my GLs.

If anyone wants to understand what the problem is, please tell me what info you need.
