In the CLI you can set which partition to boot from.
Can you also set which to flash?

When you're already running DD-WRT you can check which partition you're currently using by running the following command via Telnet, SSH or via the WEB-GUI (under Administration > Commands)

The following code will show you the partition currently in use:
Code:
ubootenv get boot_part
.

This commands will allow you to switch partitions
Code:
ubootenv set boot_part x
(where x is either 1 or 2 depending on the partition you want to use.)

When you're using stock-firmware you can check which partition is in use by browsing to the following URL
http://192.168.1.1/sysinfo.cgi

To switch to the other partition then the one currently in use you need to login to the web-interface, then choose:
Troubleshooting > Diagnostics > Restore previous firmware

Stock --> 12-01-2015-r28397 works perfectly.

Since then I've just been using DD-WRT Webflash to upgrade, without ANY issues.

Doesn't the first Webflash from within a running DD-WRT system overwrite the original Linksys stock firmware?

Yep... and your point is?

You can no longer switch between stock and dd-wrt, but only between two dd-wrt versions.

So what? The stock firmware is junk, why would you want to revert to it? I'd far prefer to have two good versions of DD-WRT on my router thanks 😀

False. You can still revert to Linksys stock firmware. I know because I have two wrt1900ac routers that I have been testing different firmwares on.

And from what I've seen, newer versions of dd-wrt flash to both partitions.
