This build thread is for reporting successes and problem with loading this experimental test build. This is important info for developers and users. Always state your hardware and SPECIFIC build (e.g. 28493_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin). Do not ask questions about your specific router or how to configure it in this thread; create your own thread to discuss any specific problems you have or need resolved. Please also do not respond to such questions. This thread is to report info, not to seek it. Posts that do not add to understanding this build will be deleted. Make sure you know how to flash properly and the risk before using this build. It is important to adhere to these requirements, to keep this thread from becoming impossibly long and useless. If you don't know what build to flash and how to flash properly and have a means of recovery if things should go wrong, do NOT flash this experimental test build.
If there are issues with the webflash update from previous build 28444, keep in mind that the problem is caused by build 28444, which has a bug in the webflashing code, as described in http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/4988#comment:13

I can not upgrade from the previous build using the webflash on my D-Link DIR-880L.
During webflash my connection resets. I have to power the AP down and up to make it work again on the previous version.
When I try to upload the file through the web interface, I get a "connection refused" after a few seconds. I have to reboot the device before I can get the web UI stuff to work again.
This might be an issue with 28444, and not the new FW.
On WinSCP:
1 Select New Site;
2 File protocol: SCP;
3 Hostname: 192.168.1.1 (or your router IP);
4 Username: root
5 Password: your admin pass
6 Drag downloaded firmware from Download folder and drop in /tmp
On putty;
1 Login on 192.168.1.1 (user root and pass);
2 Type:
cd /tmp (Enter)
mtd -r write xxxxx.bin linux (Enter) (Sure, replace xxxx with your firmware filename...)

Reset: Needed to reflash from K2.6 18946 mini to K3.0 21605 Mega to 28493. Previously was on 28444. Tried wget method, but router failed to load. Console mentioned unreadable image.
Errors: Multiple. Read below.
1. Since 21605, I see the total NVRAM was increased to 64 KB from 32 KB since the K3.X upgrade on 21605. Now with the newer builds from this year, I see NVRAM total is 256 KB. Is this a miscalculation?
2. Resetting the NVRAM will cause DD-WRT to identify the router as WRT54GL, which creates a kernel panic, crashes, and reboot loops. Resetting was not a problem on 21605.
3. Upgrading on any K3.X for F7D7301/F7D3301/F7D7302/F7D3302 will not work. Can only upgrade from the generic Mega build. Why does DD-WRT continue to publish these custom images?
