That's good news ! Just to make it clear for others that might run into this issue, Henry White's modded build 24160 from the 8th page http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=902499#902499works properly on WR941ND v5.3 (which has the newer CPU revision AR9341 rev 1_3)
LOM's modded build from page 2 seemingly bricks WR941ND v5.3 because it's a mod of an older build (21676) that didn't have support for the newer CPU used in the v5.3 _________________ THERE ARE NO STRANGERS HERE; ONLY FRIENDS YOU HAVEN'T YET MET.

I've just modified the header of the DD-WRT 27506 factory-to-ddwrt build intended for TL-WR841NDv8, so it will flash on the
"new" version of TL-WR941NDv5 / WR940Nv2 (TE7WR941NXV5, CPU Atheros AR9341 @535 MHz) running stock TP-Link firmware.
If the attached build works for you, it can be further updated with any newer-than-27506 webflash build for TL-WR841NDv8.
Disclaimer: I haven't tested the attached build myself, so I'm not responsible in any way if you brick your router.
Please only flash this build if you know how to unbrick it.

Thank you very much! I successfully replaced stock 941ND(RU) 5.3 revision.
Just used Kryptex build in my WR941 5.1 and went flawless.
later i've updated to 841v8 28072 build and everything is working, except that now it's showing two antennas only.
anyone knows how to setup for 3 antennas?

What do you mean exactly ? Did you ever see 3 antenna chains before ? Are you sure you have the "new" model of WR941ND v5 and not the "old" one ? Check the FCC ID on the back of the router. "New" model should say TE7WR941NXV5, "old" model should say TE7WR941NXV4.
The "new" WR941NDv5 is only a 2x2:2 router, it has only 2 chains/streams (max 2x150=300 Mbps), so it's a N300 router.
If it would have 3 streams, it would be able to do 3x150=450 Mbps, and would be called a N450 router (like the WR941NDv6 for example). The 3rd antenna on the "new" WR941NDv5 is there only for better range/sensitivity, and NOT for driving an actual 3rd chain.

Works perfectly for me, 20 days uptime without any issue.

Does anyone have OPEN VPN working on this build? If yes, how?
