I look for a way to flash back the WZR-1750dhp to the original Buffalo DD-WRT firmware. At the moment this build is installed:
DD-WRT v3.0-r27805 std (09/11/15)
Kernel Version
Linux 3.10.87 #4602 SMP Thu Sep 10 06:28:14
CEST 2015 armv7l
if I try to go back to v23 (Buffalo's special DD-WRT Edition)via WebGui the router reboots after firmwareupdate always into the 27085 release an don't update to the V23 version.

Have you managed to flash your unit, mesjanloar?
I still have not even touched mine. It has to be done during weekend or on some my day off but I have not had any since last couple of weeks. Work duties and studies...
Perhaps you have had better luck?

Now I can tell I have read that thread.
The case, I have to say, seems a bit risky as far as that untrustworthy soft needs to be uploaded (I assume that DD-WRT is not untrustworthy any more)
I just got my replacement router after my first one developed a fault and I am in the same boat as you with crap 2.27. I raised this with Buffalo support to see what they will came up with. Have you tried the method from the thread ? I will wait for tech support to come back first
I can tell you I foolishly updated my WZR-1750DHP with the Buffalo non DDWRT firmware and that recovery file from that post worked for me. Just unzip it first and use the WEBGUI to upload it.

Posted: Sun Dec 06, 2015 20:29 Post subject: Lost connections, low speeds, low signal quality
I’m sitting about six meters from my router. Connected to my 5 GHz network, I get about 14 Mbps and my router's status page reports that my signal quality is hovering a little below 40%. On the 2.4 GHz network, I often see ~78 Mbps. If I walk a room or two away from my router, it's likely that my connection will be lost at some point. Occasionally, my 5 GHz network goes AWOL completely and I have to reboot my router to get it back. To me, it’s surprising that these builds are so broken when you consider that there are/were official Buffalo-branded DD-WRT builds.
So that’s the state we’re in but out of curiosity, how might these stability/speed/signal quality issues get addressed anyway? DD-WRT supports such a wide variety of devices that it makes me wonder how a bug on a specific device even gets noticed.
Are issues like this reported and tracked somewhere? Or do we just hope that a bug affecting one Broadcom device affects enough other Broadcom devices that someone in the development community notices? I ask because I was seeing what OpenWrt says about its support for this router and their download page for the WZR-1750DHP list two specific issues, so it seems like they're keeping track on a device-by-device basis. DD-WRT's forums are busy but are developers aware of issues with specific devices?
@spaarky what version are you using on your router? I'running r28417 and it's blazing at full speeds. My current 2011 MacBook Air can only connect at a max of 300Mbps (and does) and my iperf3 tests in both directions are 150Mbps (as expected).

Hmm. Very different experience here. I've used that release but have been updating every time a new version is released, hoping for something better. I'm currently on 28444.
My personal laptop is a 2010 MacBook Pro with 300 Mbps N wireless. My phone is an iPhone 6s, which has AC wireless. And I also have the original Nexus 7 tablet, which has N wireless. All of those devices did well with the stock firmware but hover around 40 Mbps when using DD-WRT. Right now, DD-WRT's status page is showing my laptop's TX and RX rates as 18M and 13M.
Is there some obvious configuration change I'm missing? All that really came to mind was changing the channel width. I wonder if the poor performance is due to the poor signal quality, which leads me to wonder why the signal quality is so low when I'm so close to the router.

tphillippe, can you, please, answer my questions in my previous post?

Posted: Sun Dec 20, 2015 21:44 Post subject: TRX Linux image booted to Buffalo WZR-1750DHP
I bought WZR-1750 with 2.10 firmware.
1. I have updated firwmware with the factory-to-dd-wrt.bin (fownloaded from Buffalo WZR-1750DHP page at http://dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database) in WEB interface:
a) Connected by Ethernet cabel and set local connection address to 192.168.11.2/255.255.255.0/192.168.11.1
b) Opened 192.168.11.1 address in browser
c) Opened "Advanced settings" and updated firmware with factory-to-dd-wrt.bin file
d) After the router reboot its address became 192.168.1.1 and I had to change the local connection address to 192.168.1.2/255.255.255.0/192.168.1.1
3. Then I booted my TRX Linux image to the router:
a) Connected to the dd-wrt firmware using telnet ("telnet 192.168.1.1", login: admin, password: password).
b) Started TFTP server (using tftpd utility) on the host in the folder containing my Linux image linux.trx
c) Temporarily switched off the firewall on my host.
d) Got Linux image to the router in telnet window using TFTP:
tftp -g -r 192.168.1.2 linux.trx
e) Executed the command "write linux.trx linux"
d) After reboot my Linux image was successfully running on the router

Despite its length - this appears to be THE thread for discussing the buffalo wzr-1750. I acquired one of these - a US model DHPD that is with pre-installed dd-wrt. It turned out to be 23709c and was crappy as it seemed to stop working after I changed these things: LAN side of 192.168.2.1, different ssid's, a few dnsmasq options. Wired internet was fine, wifi was not. Well, I didn't buy the thing because I wanted the pre-installed software anyway.
I then 30-30-30 reset the box, and put BS 28444 on. The only reason I picked that particular one was that a few others in this thread have said it worked for them. I did NOT go via the "factory-to-dd", which I assumed I wouldn't need as my box is a DPHD model, i.e. a model that already has DD-WRT. So from: ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2015/12-05-2015-r28444/buffalo_wzr-1750dhp/ I went directly for the buffalo-wzr-1750dhp-webflash.bin and waited for it to say it had rebooted.
After 30-30-30 it came up as expected on 192.168.1.1 and I subsequently made the same set of modifications that I need:
changed wifi location to my country in Europe
changed ssid's and set wpa-psk with aes
changed ip to 192.168.2.1
added some dnsmasq options for DNS of a few local hosts
added a few static leases
I made no other changes (e.g. wifi settings) and speedtest performance on both wired, 2.4GHz and 5GHz matches my expected 40/10 that my ISP gives me.
I was hoping someone could help me. I have mine on build 28444 but the wireless connectivity has been terrible. I have been trying to flash another version but every time i try with a wired connection in the gui it starts the 300 second countdown gets to about 298 then my router starts flashing red three times and a pause the internet still works and wireless but i can no longer access the gui. I have tried all different versions i have also set a static ip of 192.168.1.8 on the computer i am trying to flash from along with a factory reset before. Does anyone else have any ideas please?

Since this appears to be sort of a collecting input thread I thought it might be a good idea to post my recent experience here:
Brand new out-of-the-box WZR-1750DHP (since the dd-wrt version is not sold in Europe, we have to live with the proprietary stock firmware for the start.
I did a 30/30/30 reset to avoid getting nasty emails after this post
Switch of WLAN on my PC (runs on Linux/Debian). Attach router via LAN cable to PC by using one of the four LAN ports. Set network connection address to 192.168.11.7 as discussed here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Buffalo
Pointed my browser to 192.168.11.1 and navigated to the update firmware page and uploaded the factory-to-dd-wrt.bin downloaded earlier.

Hello forum, I am frustrated because my router got blick:
I am connect via Putty using the serial cable I attached the logs from the begin, I can push the buffalo-wzr-webflash-23503 version and the router let me go to the dd-wrt pages, the situation is I can't go further this version no matter if I use Kong or BS I always end with the same error:
