i am setting up a WDS in a building, and selecting the Hardware to buy.

so far looks like the most powerful (wider range) is the:
Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 Wireless-G MIMO Performance Router and Access Point.

because it has a Built in Amplifier, making Receiving and transmiting up to 300mW. also i am going to add some 11db antennas to them.

is that a correct choice ?

i am use to work with linksys wrt54g and wrt54gs
and wr850g from motorola.

but the buffalo routers looks like a better option.
i hear your comments and suggestions.

the budget i have is up to 2500 usd. for this 15-20 routers

Regards
Martin

My first DD-WRT was done on a Linksys WRT54G v6. Just sold it to someone for $80.

I have a WRT54G v5 that I am going to convert and install at my father's business.

I have a Buffalo WZR2-G300N.
It is nice, fast. Supposedly has a 500MHz proc inside but I could not find any info to confirm that. It really is a mean machine but the firmware is lacking. Would love to see it possible for DD-WRT one day.

Coming Friday from ZipZoomFly is my Linksys WRT54GL v1.1 and that will be converted to v23 sp3.

Please tell us what Broadcom based hardware do you run dd-wrt on. If your hardware is not on a list, also tell us.

You can vote only once, so if you have more than one router, vote for one, but also make your list as a reply.

THANK YOU! Very Happy

I use a belkin f5d7230-4 v2000 which is not on the list. It only functions on WLAN and works in v23 sp1 but not v23 sp2.

1x LinkSys WRT54G v5
1x Buffalo WHR-HP-G54
2x Gateway 7001 A+G (Or at least trying to)
xx Belkin F5D7230-4 v4002 (xx because it is a crappy Belkin and killed itself after 3 weeks of service)

If anyone has made any progress on a DD-WRT for the 7001's, please let me know as I still am having difficulty.

Oh, and hopefully near future:

1-3x x86 pc's with Atheros 500x AG108 cards if development goes any further.
