So it looks like I need to unbrick my R7000.

I hooked up serial cable, then ethernet cable, and connected via putty to get black window with green cursor. I power up router, get through some screen text and hit CTRL-C until I get to a CFE> prompt (after it says Startup canceled).

I then try and TFTP the stock firmware I have for this unit by typing the following command:

tftp -i 192.168.1.1 put R7000-V1.0.4.30_1.1.67.chk

It sits there for maybe a minute, and then says the folowing:
Timeout occurred
Connect request failed

No firewall enabled. No Antivirus. Fresh new install of Windows 7. Router IP pings fine.

For the heck of it, I tried using putty to extract the user name and password (my original issue was stock firmware would not accept any username/password combo), using the commands nvram get http_username and nvram get http_passwd. I got a crazy long string of characters for each, and through Chrome I was able to use it to login, but the GUI interface was messed up, although there was somewhat of a navigation menu (from stock firmware) on the left. I went to see if I could manually load the firmware, but when I clicked on link on left, the page timed out, and now I seem to be unable to connect to the gui again - sometimes it will prompt for login, but I get "connection refused" after punching in the long strings for username and password. Most of the time I don't even get prompted for credentials.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here?

Did you invoke tftpd on the router side before using tftp client from the PC?

Thank you. I'm an idiot for missing that part. Much appreciated...
