sorry for the newbie questions here, but I did a forum search and could not find the answers I was looking.

ok so here is my problem, Im not able to install ipkg at all. I am using the dd-wrt latest beta now, but I have also tried the v23sp2 with the same results. every time I try in the ssh I get an error that says "file not found" for whiterussian and two other dir's.

how can I fix this, so I can install ipkg files? I found a file called ipkg.conf but I dont know how to open and edit it. Im thinking that might help me. haha :p

also since I am an admitted linux newbie, after I get the ipkg files installed, how do I run the one I installed?

thank you very much to anyone that can help out with these simple questions. Smile

If you want an ipkg system you are better off using OpenWRT.

From my experiences (starting summer 2007), ipkg is FUBAR.

That doesn't mean you can't figure out a way to extract files from the packages and then transfer them to your router. It just means ipkg was almost always unsuccessful.

There is a second problem that files from packages do not always work with dd-wrt. Our kernel is changing and these changes are not announced - so it is difficult to know which openwrt packages are compatible with which versions of dd-wrt.

OpenWrt packages are NO longer compatible.

Use Optware...
