Thanks for the forum help. Succesful flash of a TP-LINK TL-WR740N (TE7WR7NXV5) router from an Ubuntu/Firefox machine.

1) Download DD-WRT firmware for router model from DD-WRT website:

Downloads › betas › 2015 › 08-11-2015-r27600 › tplink_tl-wr740nv5 - factory-to-ddwrt.bin

2) Perform 30-30-30 reset on router

3) Turn off wifi on computer

3) Create connection to router

address: 192.168.0.100
mask: 255.255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.0.1

3) Point browser to 198.168.0.1

4) Sign on to router with id:admin password:admin

5) Backup default/factory settings

5) Upgrade router firmware pointing to and using: factory-to-ddwrt.bin

6) Let the router do its thing, dont touch until its done

7) Perform 30-30-30 reset on router

8- Create connection to router

address: 192.168.1.100
mask: 255.255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.1.1

9) Point browser to 192.168.1.1

10) Sign on to router and setup your wireless

11) Router wireless working

Note: I saw this on the router informantion page, which I was expecting to see v5:

Thank you for your tutorial, I wish to follow it but I have few question before starting.

How to be sure I have international or chinese version of TL-WR740N v5 (I'm in Iran to learn Persian language)?

Which file should be downloaded and used, factory-to-ddwrt.bin or tl-wr740nv5-webflash.bin?
You seems to say to use factory-to-ddwrt.bin, why not the other one?

Then, you are talkin about 30-30-30 reset but I read that we should never do a 30-30-30 TL-WR740N v5 because it's a Atheros board router and 30-30-30 reset is for Broadcom board router.
