Has anyone been able to load anything but the trailed webflash build for this router? Any trailed build works fine.

The trailed webflash build is mini. I would like to load at least std or mega. It has 8MB flash and 64MB RAM.

Everytime I try to load a generic build it soft bricks into recovery.

Also, I am confused about the broadloom directory layout. Is the standard "Broadcom" folder for most devices? Is K3 for kernel 3.X? Is the vanilla directory for older devices?

Anyone? Surely someone has this router and has successfully flashed it with something besides the trailed build.

If it's a k3.x build nothing else will probably fit.
If you want to run dd-wrt on newer routers you need to buy one with more flash.

Thank you Malachi,
If you mean the trailed build has a Kernel 3.x then yes.

Then opensource from Trendnet which is dd-wrt is std, the build in the database is std - build 2384, but is is buggy and missing features for std such as rflow, snmp, etc.

They are all Kernel 3.x as well. I have enough flash for std, but the only thing that works is the trailed build on any svn.

Here is the link for the direct download:

I also have this router and was wondering the same thing. I was also wondering if the USB port works via DDWRT, as I don't want to lose that feature.

The USB port works fine on DD-WRT. Just remember to change the IP address of your host when you flash. Trendnet uses 192.168.10.1 and DD-WRT is 192.168.1.1

I can flash any trailed build for this router, but any generic build soft bricks it to the web flash recovery.

I've got a Trendnet TEW812DRU (Hardware Version 2.1R)

I've been using this version of DD-WRT for almost two years now without any issues:

DD-WRT v24-sp2 (11/11/14) mini (SVN revision / build 25309M)

Here's some specs from the status page:

CIFS (Not mounted)

Extra Info:

The 2.4 Ghz (Wl0) Tx Power setting is set to 150 mw
The 5 Ghz (Wl1) Tx Power Setting is set to 350 mw

I don't have external antennas on this router yet, but will add them soon.

Using DHCP w/ 19 Static leases, DNSMasq w/ local DNS and a hosts file with thousands of blocked sites on it, Syslogd going to my server, and 2 Access Restriction policies for some computers / during some times.

There is also a heavy amount of UL/DL workign happening, including heavy torrent DL usage.

I am saying all the details above to let you know this is a heavily used router, with no issues on this FW.
