(eg: 26947_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin). Do not ask questions about your specific router or how to configure it in this thread; create your own thread to discuss any specific problems you have or need resolved. May 19 15:15:34 --- kern.warn kernel: br0: received packet on eth2 with own address as source address
That's getting really twisted -
GUI System Information
LAN MAC 2C:B0:5D:42:BB:89
Wireless MAC 2C:B0:5D:42:BB:8C
Setup / Networking
br0 shows as 2C:B0:5D:42:BB:89
GUI Wireless Basic Settings
Physical Interface wl0 - SSID [----] HWAddr [2C:B0:5D:42:BB:8B]
Virtual Interfaces wl0.1 SSID [---- GUESTS] HWAddr [2E:B0:5D:42:BB:8C]
Physical Interface wl1 - SSID [5GHz-mrjcd] HWAddr [2C:B0:5D:42:BB:8C]
so what the heck¿? The wl0.1 MAC is a little thrown off but it is still unique
At least log shows in current local time these days -- that's cool.
Edit: After I deleted VAP the 'Current Bridging Table' showed br0 tagged with wl0.1 there was not a wl0 showing anywheres.
I let it run like that all night connected fine to the 2.4GHz wl0 interface but apparently it has confused itself. I have page after page of
'kern.warn kernel: br0: received packet on wl0.1 with own address as source address' but it did work ok... no other errors.
I pulled it out to give it a good redo.

On Netgear R7000 running Kong R26500. Don't know if I should update to this version or not. I know some R7000's were bricked by prior versions so I don't know if I can safely go from 26500 to 26947. Any advice?

26947 not good for me on E1200v2
For e1200v2's (and e900's in my experience as I have one as well), you have to install a mini build first, which downgrading from a mega to mini will most times put you into management mode. Make sure you set a static IP and select the trailed mini K2.6 build of the same build you want to upgrade to mega on (it MUST be the trailed build for the router, not just "nv64k" ect.). If it stops uploading on the management mode page or isn't taking the build, 30/30/30 and try again, it will take it (I've never had it not and I've upgraded many of my e1200v2's a lot like this). Then give it some time (normal "wait for it to install" stuff), and then uplug/replug the power and you will have your mini build up. From there, then go to the upgrade page and select the mega build but select "Do Not Reset" as the reset option, and then upgrade. After a few minutes, you will have a e1200v2 running the mega build without the MAC/WAN IP issues you said. And with mine, the mega builds run very nicely on these routers compared to K2.6 builds.
It seems that if you reset the nvram on these e1200v2's with a mega build installed, it will break the nvram settings (MACs and WAN IPs, ect) and you will have to follow the steps above to reset it. Resetting or selecting to reset during upgrade always caused my boxes to not have a WAN IP and all kinds of bogus MAC issues.
Edit: Just upgraded one of my e1200v2's to this mega build successfully, didn't get management mode but followed steps above.
Edit 2: Seems to be running very nicely so far, streaming from my NAS no problems _________________ Deployed Routers:
