What is the most stable Build that everyone mostly uses for the R6300v2?

Kong? Or normal?

QoS needs to be stable as well as WiFi. But mostly a lot of devices and traffic.

I would go for Kong's is minimalist but just router dedicated, go README first.

i second that^^...

I've been very happy with his Personal Test Build (PTB) dated 3/23/15 (SVN REV 26500)

...currently available at the link provided above.

I've been happy with both Kong and Main SVN/BS builds on the R6300v2, but since flashing 26500 a month ago it has been so stable that I saw no need to continue testing ("crack addict" flashing) everything that came out.

this post:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=963999#963999

and the next three show a few others happy with the stability of Kong's 26500 PTB

PS. if coming from stock this might be a good read:

Why do you say go to README first? Theres no readme file there and Im not a flashing noob :p. I know how to flash it setup etc. I just want a stable one I dont have to keep taking it down for Smile. Unhappy users when I have to take it down and resetup everything Smile

The readme file is in the root directory above ARM & K26 folders.

The readme in Kongs PTB folder is useless to the newbie. It just points you towards BS' beta builds.

mito does not "know" if your a firmware flashing wizard or a total newbie.

He specifically responded to your request for a basic/stable firmware. I don't see your "thank you mito" on that portion of his response. Nice show of appreciation for a stranger taking the time to answer your question.

If your not a newbie with flashing & setup you probably already know you can have the router back up & running (reconfigured) in less than 5 minutes with either a unix script or simple copy/paste of configuration commands so the "take it down and reset everything" isn't that hard for an experienced ddwrt user.

btw,
I agree with mito and jheide44.
Kong 26500M is a stable build & you probably cant go wrong with it.

I understand, Yeah I know about backing up settings, scripts, etc, But I really like to start fresh when doing things like that if that makes since. Same with upgrading, I`d rather wipe/reset than dirty flashing.

Thanks I`ll give it a go, I`ve currently been running the 3/7/15 Kong Build, I think I just need to work on tweaking my QoS settings a tad for downloads.

don't have/remember details (don't really use Qos) but if you follow the history of this thread:
http://dd-wrt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=278372

and perhaps the Kong PTB "new builds" threads, you might be able to discern when some of the QoS bugs were "squashed".

All I can say is that I know the devs were working on QoS a bit after the new BCM ARM WiFi Driver (Feb 2015)

oh yeah maybe this too Smile

I had pretty good luck with ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2015/09-28-2015-r27858/

I'm now using advanced tomato on it because of all the bricking builds here lately, but I'm using mine as an AP with nothing fancy.
