Hey guys Ive been playing with the La fonera and now am attempting a new setup to extend the network.

Basically i attempted to have the La fonera put into Only Client mode but it might need to be client bridge im not 100% sure. What I want to happen is this:

The La Fonera 2 in Client mode is connected to a Wifi Network as the client. Then i connect from the PC to the Virtual AP connection on the La fonera to get internet.

So far when i attempt to do this i put the router in client mode and enable the VAP but i can never connect to the VAP or the VAP does not show up when i scan the network for Wifi AP networks. I think when i attempted to do this as a Client Bridge it allowed me to connect but i couldnt access the routers home page to connect the router to another network.

Has anyone had any luck with a newer firmware or settings?

Bump? For some reason i can not get the VAP to give a signal when in client bridge mode. Anyone else care to try this?

Yep, same here
and additionally DHCP doesn't work once the Fonera is in client bridge mode.

thanks for your reply. i was able to get the vap to work i think when it was in AP mode only.

but once it is changed to client/client bridge it no longer shows the vap.

New firmware 7-12-07 I think ill download this and give it a try
