I have a Linksys WRT54Gv5 with DD-WRT installed and running.
The Status page on the Web gui shows this:
System
Router Name DD-WRT
Router Model Linksys WRT54G/GL/GS
Firmware Version DD-WRT v24-sp2 (07/22/09) micro - build 12548M NEWD Eko
I want to set it up as simply a DHCP server and authoritative DNS server for its DHCP zone on the LAN ports. I have disabled the Wifi radio and intend to disable the WAN port when I am finished testing.
I have the DNS reporting the IP addresses for the DHCP clients it serves. So far, so good.
Now I am trying to implement the dnsmasq options "auth-server", "auth-zone" and "auth-sec-servers". Then I can have other DNS servers in my network do the heavy lifting and simply get the updated local zone info from DD-WRT with zone transfers.
Alas, dnsmasq fails to start when I use any of those "Additional DNSMasq Options".
I am suspecting that I need a newer version of dnsmasq. How can I update dnsmasq to a newer version?
I would rather not attempt to build my own firmware image if I can avoid it.
