NOT wanting to get in any trouble here by mentioning openwrt but someone posted speeds tested in openwrt saying they were getting half the speeds of the factory firmware you can see here thinking possibly the Ath10k driver is to blame:

https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=53703

can anyone who tested the newest ddwrt tell me or test this to see if this happens with ddwrt as well? im hoping this is okay to post here being a valid possible issue / question. i dont want to flash back and forth many times since right now this is my only current router and i dont want to kill it.

thank you for any info you can be.

I'm struggling to update from 24461.

Every time I've gone into the firmware upgrade page on the WebUI and upload the Factory-to-ddwrt.bin, the upgrade process goes through, router reboots but the about page still states that I'm running 24461.

Is there a particular process to upgrading the firmware from this build?

If you are already on dd-wrt, why are you trying to upgrade using the factory to ddwrt file?
The factory in its name indicates it to be used when going from factory to dd-wrt.

That would make sense, but which file would use you in that instance? As attempting to flash tplink_archer-c7-v2.bin located below throws me out with an unsuccessful error.

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2014/11-03-2014-r25251/tplink_archer-c7-v2/

Any suggestions?

is the 25273 any better then 25251 was because on 25251 i had to revert back to factory firmware because the router just did not work properly and even the gui in ddwrt was dreadfully slow. i would really like to use ddwrt on the archer c7 v2 but so far i have had some kind of issue with it (albeit factory firmware is terrible so i hate using it). on 25251 i could not get the wifi speeds even close to what i could on factory on the 5g band. 2.4 seemed okay though.

thanks

yes i read the whole thing i have tried to set it up exactly as many said and the 2.4 was pretty good but 5 was not at all great. i have went back to stock for now. open wrt has similar issues when i tried that where the 5g wifi is about half the speed of stock even with the 80 "fix" they have

Can someone please show me a step by step way from dd-wrt back to factory firmware using a windows PC?

Im confused with these two steps;

5. Upload the new tplink.bin to /tmp. Find a way to do it. I used a webserver and used wget to download the file into the /tmp folder. You can try using SSH since you're still on DD-WRT, but do not ask me how. Use Google for that.

In Windows, we can make Revert firmware use dd for windows
http://www.chrysocome.net/dd
It is also possible to use hex editor.
Cut the 131584 byte to decimal mode.

Does everyone have this kind of problems in r25279 build?
(Especially first and fourth problem.)

1. TX Power option in advanced wireless settings is missing. Both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

2. Some channel don't work of 5GHz(Maybe, It is ath10k problem.)

3. Only 2.4GHz and 5GHz will be equal country to the upper of the channel appears. (144,149,153,157,161)
(When they have different Country, Country of 5GHz is legally support 144,149,153,157,161 channels.)

4. Sometimes C7 fall in infinite reboot after change setting.
a few minutes ago, I have experienced it after Security-Log Management enabled.

-Yes it is missing in later firmwares. It was not working anyway.

2. Some channel don't work of 5GHz(Maybe, It is ath10k problem.)

-Yes some channels don't work in 5ghz although more channels are working with newer
Firmware releases. Im now able to connect on channel 165. The 5ghz throughput is slow, Even when almost next to the router. Also disconnects occasionally.

-2.4 channel is stable with good throughput.

4. Sometimes C7 fall in infinite reboot after change setting.
a few minutes ago, I have experienced it after Security-Log Management enabled.[/quote]

-I have not experienced any reboot problems at all. Be sure to do reset factory default
Before and after a firmware update.

I believe the dd-wrt firmware is more reliable than the factory firmwares for this router.
I was having numerous disconnections Along with weak signal strength on the 5ghz channels with the factory firmware. It must be A ath10k problem.

Thank you for your reply. I already reset it. Infinite rebooting appear after clean install.

I write comment each step.

1. If It confuse you, You should better use this way.
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=897507#897507 Follow this post.
If you are using windows, I recommend use tftpd32 as tftp program.
Before 2014-09 (3.13.34) stock bootloader (firmware) : 192.168.1.66 and ArcherC7v2_tp_recovery.bin
After 2014-09 (3.14.1) stock bootloader (firmware) : 192.168.0.66 and ArcherC7v3_tp_recovery.bin
After 2015-03 (3.14.2) stock bootloader (firmware) : 192.168.0.66 and ArcherC7v2_tp_recovery.bin

2. And I will attach Revert firmware in this post.
So, Ignore this step. You should just rename firmware file to ArcherC7v2_tp_recovery.bin or ArcherC7v3_tp_recovery.bin

PS. Sorry for my poor english. I want to explain more detail. But it is difficult because of my poor english.
