Good evening everyone,
I have the following situation:
- Router in NG mode
Everyone connects, things work fine (in G mode)
- Router in N mode
PCs fail to connect, but the cellphones (iOS/Android) works fine.
I've tried various steps to fix the issue, but was unable to solve it in the end. Could you guys please give me a little help? I have no idea how to proceed now.
Steps I've tried:
- Disabling IPv6 (in my pc)
- Disabling WiFi security
- Choosing a fixed Channel
- Changing the channel width
- Disabling the IP Helper service
Error shown in the event viewer:
- Connection status summary
- Connection started at: 2014-10-08 23:46:12-199
- Profile match: Success
- Pre-Association: Success
- Association: Fail
- Security and Authentication: Not started
I've installed the latest driver (ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2014/05-27-2014-r24160/tplink_tl-wr741ndv1/tl-wr741nd-webflash.bin) a few hours ago, but the router became incredibly unstable (WiFi / cable connection worked intermittently, had to reset the router many times). So I have reverted to the last version, and the router became stable again.
I have the same problem everything works but my wifes laptop will not connect i tryed everything nothing worked. So i took her mini wireless out it was ATHREOS AR5B225 MINI and put a INTEL LINK 5100 512AN_HMW PCI-E 802.11N WIFI CARD and now it works just fine. Why it wouldnt connect with the ATHREOS card and work great with the INTEL just Blows my mind.It started doing that whin i put DDWRT on my router.Im going to keep DDWRT so thats what i did to work around the problem.
If that doesn't work out, then you may have to stay in NG-mixed mode. A new build may be coming out soon with some connection fixes for the Atheros chipsets
