Good evening everyone,

I have the following situation:

- Router in NG mode
Everyone connects, things work fine (in G mode)
- Router in N mode
PCs fail to connect, but the cellphones (iOS/Android) works fine.

I've tried various steps to fix the issue, but was unable to solve it in the end. Could you guys please give me a little help? I have no idea how to proceed now.

Versions:
Fw: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/25/13) std (SVN revision 21061)
Router: Tp-Link TL-WR741ND
WiFi Adapter: TL-WN722N (with latest official Driver)

Steps I've tried:
- Disabling IPv6 (in my pc)
- Disabling WiFi security
- Choosing a fixed Channel
- Changing the channel width
- Disabling the IP Helper service

Error shown in the event viewer:
- Connection status summary
- Connection started at: 2014-10-08 23:46:12-199
- Profile match: Success
- Pre-Association: Success
- Association: Fail
- Security and Authentication: Not started

Thanks!

before all else you should try a newer build.

Hi earthmind, thanks for your reply.

I've installed the latest driver (ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2014/05-27-2014-r24160/tplink_tl-wr741ndv1/tl-wr741nd-webflash.bin) a few hours ago, but the router became incredibly unstable (WiFi / cable connection worked intermittently, had to reset the router many times). So I have reverted to the last version, and the router became stable again.

Do you have any other suggestions I could try?

Thanks --

I assume that you cleared the NVRAM after flashing Build 24160? You can do this in Administration::Factory Defaults menu.

If you did that, just forget what I said.

You might get stable results from Build 23919 ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2014/04-18-2014-r23919

If that doesn't work out, then you may have to stay in NG-mixed mode. A new build may be coming out soon with some connection fixes for the Atheros chipsets
