I can do 250 without HW NAT. For these ARM systems, you only need HW NAT if you have speeds > 250Mbps, which is pretty rare.

Unless you live in Europe where it seems gigabit internet is more common...

Lots of changes via the DD-WRT timeline over the last week or so. Kong hasn't posted anything since August 16. Hope he's OK?

I hope that's all it is and he's OK... going on 3 weeks now since we've seen him on these forums.

24865M has been solid on my R7000 for 4 days and still kicking. In contrast, on 24345M OLD, it rebooted every 2-3 hours.

I am using the BT version. 5GHz in repeater mode connects to R6100, 2.4Ghz in AP mode. Samba and Bittorrent are enable. Streaming HD video clips from hard drive connecting in USB3 port. Bitttorent is running constantly. So far, 24865M is rock solid.

Any ideas why a Dell laptop with an Intel Pro 2200b/g wireless card would be able to connect with all of the builds thus far for the R7000, but not 24865M?

Yes I know, its old, but the laptop still works!

24865M enabled frame-bursting by default. Maybe your card doesn't like that?

I have high hopes that this is the issue, but so far no dice. I tried to enable frame-bursting on 24800M which is currently installed, but the laptop still connects. When I have time this weekend I will install 24865M and disable frame-bursting and see if it still won't connect.

Thanks for the idea! I will report back after I test.

During iperf speed testing of wlan(5ghz N - 2stream):
Beamforming OFF - avg-120MBit/s, unstable transfer 100MBit/s - 170MBit/s.
Beamforming ON - stable avg 150MBit/s.

Same time I changed explicit and implicit settings.

This speed test is lower than 23919 (avg 175MBits)

DO NOT 30-30-30 or erase nvram newer routers! It can brick them.

E4200: Build 26587

Hi Kong,

I have two problems with HWNAT enabled in 24865M

1) No incoming audio for VOIP
Outgoing audio is ok
Linksys PAP2T, provider viatalk (no access to adapter webpage)
I tried adding port forward for 5060-5061 and 10000-20000 without any improvement

2) L2TP VPN fails from iOS client device on LAN to external server

I had ViaTalk at one time and due to many issues including networking problems years ago, I dump them for VOIPo. I installed this rev and am having no problems with my Grandstream HT502 and VOIPo. If I remember correctly the PAP2T, above and beyond ViaTalk, had problems of its own. That is why I think VOIPo went to Grandstream. Also from that time, since it was one of their "fixes", on, even now, I always put my ATA in the DMZ. That way nothing can get in the way. Have ViaTalk set you up with a static IPA for the device, then give it an IPA Reservation and then put in the DMZ.

So I would say it may not be this rev of dd-wrt at all that's your issue. I'd talk to ViaTalk and see what they say. In my day, they'd care less. That's another reason I left. Good Luck.

It was my impression that the consensus is that 24865 is not stable enough for "the masses" with the new HW NAT and such. There have been more than 100 updates to DD-WRT since 24865 so hopefully Kong will be back from hiatus soon. It's been 3 weeks since we've seen him so I'm still worried about him. Not really worried about the updates personally, because 24800 has been up and running for weeks here (with the changes to settings I made that stopped the reboots). Just hoping nothing happened to him or he got sick or injured? Surprised

Hi FarmerBob,
Thanks for your suggestions.
However, above is only an issues when HWNAT is enabled.
Both works just fine when HWNAT is disabled, no other changes.
So I would say it is definitely related to HWNAT code.
