Here is an unofficial test release of the DD-WRT firmware for WNDR3400v3 based of the original work for WNDR3400v2 from myopenrouter.com.

Tomato: http://www.linksysinfo.org/index.php?threads/netgear-wndr3400-v3-beta-tomato-support.70215/

Features:
- dualband support
- latest busybox
- latest openssl (with heartbleed protection)
- latest ntfs-3g
- sftp-server support
- iproute2 support
- LEDs working properly
- SES support (using WPS button)

The original source from myopenrouter.com is unversioned source (no known svn revision found, closest seems r18777). So I was unable to update entire codebase to latest svn revision but only some tools (buybox and openssl are latest).

Any support for sharing an attached USB drive? If so any known size limitation? And thanks a million for doing this, I've been up a creek since Best Buy "upgraded" me to V3 under protection plan.

I have tested with few USB devices including a 300Gb USB3 hdd, 16Gb USB3 key and an 8Gb sdcard using a usb card reader. All worked fine.

It supports FTP sharing but not samba and I don't think I will add samba support.

I've been waiting for someone to build ddwrt for this router!

I know you said you wouldn't add samba, but if it's not a hassle for you (yes i know this is a major understatement) it would be great to see the support.

Is there any plans for openvpn support?

Again not complaining, glad to have this!

@jeesgalaxy Sorry, I won't integrate anything new as the original code base is too old.

I have also ported tomato firmware for this router. Check the link on first post. It supports samba and many more features (but no openvpn in this build).

Hi

I do not see the menu for OpenVPN on wndrv3 with tomato installed. Can you please help

Under VPN, I see option for PPTP server, online, client but no OPENVPN.

Note that I updated from dd-wrt firmware to tomoatoUSB. I did not have openVPN on dd-wrt as well.

Rest the firmware has been working fine for an hour now.

Thank you

@dhabud Ah, sorry. Yes tomato build doesn't have openvpn but pptp. I'll see if it can be done.

I am confused, please help me out.

Do you have permission from DD-WRT to use their TradeMarked name on your concocted version of firmware?

This may be derived from dd-wrt open source code but, once you change it it's no longer a dd-wrt product.
At best this should be named amitg0123-for-Netgear-WNDR3400v3 or amitg0123.v24-K26_WNDR3400V3.chk

I won't bother to go into the legal ramifications of what you did even if you meant well. Look up Trademark infringement.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply man. Good to hear that you still keeping tabs on this page. I will take a look at Tomato and try it out. Hopefully you can add openvpn functionality, but I'm still grateful for the fact that Tomato/DDWRT even exists over that stupid netgear web gui.

Might buy a wndr3400v3 just to see your work.

Kudos to you IF make one for the e3000 though.

@ddaniel51, to my understanding, derived work and mod are different thing. This build does nothing but adding support for a new router hardware.

@Siddhesh, I am no longer using this firmware and moved to tomato. So nothing new but yes the last dd-wrt build worked very well for me.

@Gameman Advanced Kid, as I said, I am no longer using this firmware but it was a good build, worked very well. For e3000, you should try tomato firmware.
