Try switching the wireless mode on your access point to "N Only".

By the way, does anyone know if there is a workaround to get N-Only to work?

EDIT: Nevermind. I figured it out. Switched to mixed N and G mode, 40mhz wide, and AES WPA algorithms. Now connected at 300Mbps!

Hi guys,

I never replied my experience with 21286 (sorry abt that)
I performed the same steps as Armethyst suggested: upgraded stock firmware, and flashed router with dd-wrt.

I have a couple of iPhone devices and an apple tv 2 (also connected via wifi).

The only odd thing that I noticed is that when setting up the router with a "NG-mixed" network mode I had several dropouts on the apple tv, and also while trying to stream media from youtube on my laptop it did not work.

After that I changed the mode to "Mixed" and since then it has been working stable, but I wanted to know if someone had experienced a similar problem, does this behavior fit in the WLAN problem that you have described before?

Cheers

Hi.
Is version 23204 ready and stable to be flashed?
I am running stock firmware just out of the original box....

I am looking to install a DLNA server on the router.

THANKS! Very Happy

Hi guys,

I just got a wr1043nd ver 1.11 s/n 13xxx.

I seem to be having WAN problem. My WAN IP remains at 0.0.0.0. I've tried many avenues (from the german firmware or just straight out flashing).

Is this a known problem? Am I the only one facing this problem?

Please help a desperate friend.

Same problem here.

Just bought a HW revsion 1.11 SN: 13xxxx a few days ago. Used the factory-to-ddwrt.bin and then the latest webflash version both dated 13.03.2014 (webflash Version --> r23720).

Tried the whole day but didn't get any WAN IP address.

Please help.

Hi!

I have received this router (v1.Cool from my friend with dd-wrt already installed on, I do not know which version atm.

Can you please tell me which is the latest version I should use with this router, is it the V24 PreSP2 Beta v21061 as per the router database?

Are there any known issues with this firmware?

Also, can you please link me the file I need to upload and how to do that if I would like to revert back to latest stock firmware?

EDIT: I read here that many people are using build 21676 and saying it is stable. Is this the correct download link:
http://dd-wrt.com/site/support/other-downloads?path=others%2Feko%2FBrainSlayer-V24-preSP2%2F

Or I can use the latest version, that is http://dd-wrt.com/site/support/other-downloads?path=others%2Feko%2FBrainSlayer-V24-preSP2%2F

Many thanks!

Good evening DD-WRT,

I just updated my dusty old TL-WR1043ND v1.8 with the latest beta firmware to date 10-15-2019-r41328 via patch cable.
I experienced no issue with this firmware version. I'm planning to use this device as a client bridge.

It would be nice to read if someone else in the DD-WRT community is still using this (almost 10 years old) router.

Hi,

I also updated via web GUI. What I meant with patch cable was literally using it to connect to the router.
This device is currently being used as a client bridge to support non WiFi devices with LAN ports. It is extremely fast and stable for it's age.

I appreciate the support for this particular model by DD-WRT.

Side question:
Did anyone manage to set up a OpenVPN on this device?
If so, is there a modern approach of a guide or knowledge base, that someone could share?

Kind regards,

mon224
