Is the old WLAN dropping issue solved now?
The WLAN drop on 23919 always occured after 1-3 days of uptime.

Does the new version's WLAN stay up longer than a week?

I can confirm that there is no WLAN drop on the V2 models or the TP-Link 1043ND router.

Switched to the WNDR4300 because during our move to a new home my WNDR3700-V2 (!) suffered 2.4Ghz Radio-Death Syndrome!

DD-WRT latest build loaded normally, and is operating normally on Wired, 2.4Ghz, and 5Ghz, multiple clients in operation.

So far I have verified the basics:

DMZ, Port Forwarding, MAC Address clone, etc.

I will do throughput testing when the rest of my network is back in place.

As always, GREAT JOB GENTLEMEN!!!!!!!!

Regarding 1043ND v2.1:

Using the device as normal router function, it is ok.

However, I would like to use as only an AP. By disabling WAN port, DNSmasq, it just does not let the traffic through itself. Unable to ping it from LAN side. Piece of shit.

I would like to restore stock firmware, but I WAS UNABLE!

I have tried stripped fw, openwrt fw, etc. Webflash function can not perform the update, only for other dd-wrt build.

I have tried to flash from SSH console, but I got error about linux partition after cca. 15 seconds of erase/write cycle.

I have tried TFTP, but I was unable to connect. I just could not catch it. It is impossible.

Please help!

How could I revert the original FW????

C/P from Omiez post from Gargoyle forum
Upload the file using Winscp in the /tmp folder of your router.

Connect with Putty and give this commands:

cd /tmp

mtd -r write /tmp/tplink.bin firmware

Every command at once hitting Enter.

If it is not the last version just upgrade normally after flashing this one.

Router Model: DIR-825 B1
Status: working
Reset: 30/30/30
Errors: httpsd fail to start.

On previous versions httpd start as httpd -S however on built 24461 the server start as httpd -p 80

I encounter the problem by enabling Administration > Web Access > https and disabling Administration > Web Access > http. After reboot httpd fail to start.
Trying startservice httpd fail to start.

I can manually start httpd -p 80

I look at nvram for rev 24461

Code:
# nvram show | grep https
size: 23764 bytes (41772 left)
https_enable=1
hotss_customuamproto=https
remote_mgt_https=0

On previous versions I have:

Code:
# nvram show | grep https
httpsd_enable=1
https_enable=1
hotss_customuamproto=https
remote_mgt_https=0
httpsd_port=443
https_lanport=443
size: 34570 bytes (30966 left)

Thanks for your support.

PS. A chance I setup the router to use the https and disabled the reset button, however a chance that I enabled the sshd and like that I recovered my router.

Model: DIR-825 rev.B

Had to revert to r23919. Wireless was unreliable. This appears to be the last good version. I'm just hoping it's not the version before Heartbleed was fixed...

Feedback from TP-Link TL-WR841ND v8.1, using v8 firmware. Flashed from stock firmware.

Does not work correctly as an Access Point, even with very basic features enabled. Could not ping Gateway, etc.

r23320 working with no issues, with same settings.

pptp VPN not working. Unable to webflash previous version. Says upgrade fail. On remote linux server I get this errors in syslog for the pptpd.

I had the same issues when I upgraded to the 24461 release.
It was really strange. Power on HD seems ok whuile dd wrt boots. Than simply nothing.
I found a solution...
There is a release called FIX.
The fix is certainly not for the 24461 release as the fix is out before the latest release, somehow, installing the DD-WRT v24-sp2 (01/10/14) std
(SVN revision 23320) and restoring the 24461 configuration I had (without the HD working than), I solved the problem.
The HD is suddenly seen and my XBMC sees the DNLA and can stream all videos.
Maybe that helps some of you.
PS
Something strange about webflash previews versions... I did it 3 times with no problems.. back and forward between 2 webflas as I needed to compare things. no problm. Suddenly it stopped going backwards. No idea what happened.
Did not test VPN yet.

Bye

Well you gotta wonder when someone goes in and starts deleting code. A lot of "unnecessary" code was deleted after 23919, and there can be a pretty fine line between "unnecessary" and "I just don't understand what the hell all this was for." Smile

Two TL-WR1043ND v1.8's running for two weeks now without dropping any wifi or wired connections. Only thing is the NTP time zone offset not working. As a result my time is two hours behind, but I can live with that!

Wireless settings:

Mode: AP
Network Mode: NG-Mixed
CH Width: Wide HT40 (20+20 MHz)
Wireless Ch: Auto
Ext. Ch: Auto

USB Storage mounted correctly and accessible.
