I think you should revert back to original firmware then flash the new build. At least that's what I usually do in similar cases. Or try downloading the ddwrt firmware again 'cause it could be downloaded with some errors...
There is a manual upgrade you have to do sometimes., I just had to do it on my ea6900 to get to kongs latest. I am busy right now but will post the how to later today : ) its not hard from the command line
myself I feel this gives me the greatest chance of success, down side is setting everything up again but I have all the scripts and files saved to run so it no real issue for me.

DO NOT 30-30-30 or erase nvram newer routers! It can brick them.
