I've also bought a TL-WR710N(EU) ver. 1.1.

I've installed openwrt on it, but i would gladly change to dd-wrt.

I'll patiently wait for a release of dd-wrt that supports this router.

Hopefully there will be a support soon. Smile

Please inform if there are any updates on this. I am very anxious to get my 710N on dd-wrt if at all possible. The stock firmware actually isn't too bad, but I would love to get it on DD-WRT for the more advanced options.

It goes pretty slowly unfortunately. I've asked about an eta twice but I didn't get any reply. Sad

I've just ordered one of these and will be loading openwrt to start, but would love to have DD-Wrt on it. Looks like a great little unit with 2 wan/lan ,USB and onboard power.

Looking forward to the release and thanks Sash. Really appreciate your efforts here. Very Happy

Hi, I'm also interested in DD-WRT support for this router, specifically because:

As a router with a built-in wall plug, it is perfect for the Repeater Bridge function in DD-WRT; I can put it in a hallway socket to extend range, while keeping computers in other rooms on the same subnet.

As far as I know, there are no other devices which run b/g/n which have such hardware... except for TP-Link's own range extenders like TL-WA850RE, which would for me be a good alternate choice!

It looks like Netgear now has a travel router with similar form factor as TP-Link travel router: the Trek, Model PR2000 N300 . A bit ugly to put in a hallway though!

Anything I could do to help expedite the TP-Link TL-WA850RE or the TL-WR710N on this thread? Thanks!

Sweet, thanks danymarc! I'd just discovered it was possible to do an OpenWRT repeater/bridge here https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=39077 after reading elsewhere yesterday that it wasn't possible. I'm not sure if the link you posted is of builds from FriedZombie? ( http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=5317#p22353 )

I'd been reading all of the posts on the developer thread regarding his original build for the TP-Link devices and one poster stated he couldn't setup a wireless repeater using FriedZombie's build: https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=46859&p=3 (poster's name is Leonos).

I've been using dd-wrt for 5 years, but I don't know much of anything about OpenWRT or Gargoyle... Have you set up a wireless repeater bridge (wireless router to wireless router, all clients same subnet, primary router handles all DHCP?) Am I in for a lot of setup work vs DD-WRT?

Thanks!!!
