Long one, so bare with me!

So muggings here fell for the positive reviews and bought several (3) TL-WA830REs for a friend's small hotel (due to the layout of the hotel and the construction of the walls we cannot connect APs via ethernet). Needless to say, these things suck the sweat from Satan's nutsack. Evil or Very Mad

Thankfully, you guys are amazing, and the polish on the latest version of WRT reflects the team's dedication to the opensource cause!

So this is what I have working (beautifully so) so far:

A TD-W8961ND (whose own firmware is far from great) as the modem and dhcp server.

Then a WA830RE flashed with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (06/08/12)set up as a client bridge with a virtual wireless supplying a second WiFi SSID (SSID's are different mainly for ease of troubleshooting atm.)

This is giving a fantastic, stable connection (as a quick note, I had constant network failures until I set "Dynamic Routing" on the 830RE to "Lan/WLAN". If you have similar issues, try that! Switching it on solved my issues instantly)

Now because bits of equipment were upgraded over time we also have a TL-WR1043ND router which provides the main public WiFi in the hotel via a 4ft TP-Link aerial on the side of the building.

So now i have the correct settings jotted down for a stable client bridge on the wa830re, I can set it up as so:

*A TD-W8961ND as the primary modem

*Then the WR1043ND (via ethernet connection) which provides public WiFi

*A couple of flashed 830RE's at the outer extremes to help the wifi reach the last couple of rooms.

My questions are thus:

*So far the DHCP has been on the primary modem, but the TD-WR1043ND is a much more powerful router. Should there be any issues if I swap the DHCP to the second level router instead of having it on the primary?

*I have some security concerns with the network. The Wifi is open and public, but there are several office pcs that are wired. Is there any way to make sure non of the users can connect to each other? File sharing etc is not needed (AP Isolation mode?)

*QoS, I believe, can make sure no one guest hogs the bandwidth? Any issues with this I should take into consideration/setup?

*I have disabled UPnP, but are there any other settings that I should REALLY consider to ensure stability and safety for the guests and private connections?

A lot of info and questions I know, but you guys are AWESOME!

Thanks so much

Just wanted to confirm that it is the V2 version of TL-WA830RE V2 that you flashed,

Which DD-WRT v24-sp2 version did you used? Was it WR841ndv8? Any instruction on how to flash?

After flashing with dd-wrt, was it stable or do you need to reboot it frequently?
