If it works just like in pictures of above than I must reconsider my last post (do yourself a favor: you must uninstall Opera and switch to Firefox or Chrome ).
Just one thing: you said that pixelserv don't block, but "it provides a transparent pixel-gif" instead. Or adbock purpose is blocking (not masking), not to load useless data like advertising or other kind of this s*it - especially benefits for faster web pages load.
But that is great for mobile devices.

Haha, I do have Firefox and Chrome installed but I like Opera much better. Allthough it's mostly Chrome inside ...
Pixelserv does not load adds if I don't mess things up. The adresses of add-servers are masked, ie the request to the external page/add is redirected to pixelserv inside the router. Pixelserv provides a transparent pixel, that is loaded instead of the add. And because the .gif is on the router it even saves bandwidth. The file for dns-masking is updated every three days by the addblock-script - which you can easily adapt to your needs if you know how to do it. I don't know how to do it, I just think I understand what it does when I look at it, so it wouldn't be easy to change for me

Hi dr-jung,
I followed your steps to install pixelserv, with a success, after a couple of hour.
Turn out that the disable_ads.sh has ^M dos carriage return.
I did dos2unix disable_ads.sh on cygwin/unix and re-scp to dd-wrt.
Reboot the dd-wrt:
root@DD-WRT ~ $ ps | grep pixel
2456 root 776 S /jffs/dns/pixelserv 192.168.54.254 -p 80
root@DD-WRT /jffs/dns $ ls -l
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 Feb 25 19:21 ? -> /tmp/
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9159 Feb 26 2014 disable_adds.sh
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Feb 25 20:24 dlhosts
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 101394 Feb 25 20:24 dnsmasq.adblock.conf
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4196 Feb 26 2014 personal-ads-list.conf
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8952 Oct 16 2012 pixelserv
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 34 Feb 25 20:23 whitelist
Everything seems to work:
C:\Users\adm>nslookup woopra.com
Server: DD-WRT
Address: 192.168.54.1
Name: woopra.com
Address: 192.168.54.254

Sorry for that, I didn't experience this problem. But good to know nevertheless.

Can you please confirm that the whitelist format exclude domain extension, and works?
prepend, news.yahoo instead of news.yahoo.com?
Seems to be the case based on the http://www.howtogeek.com/51477/how-to-remove-advertisements-with-pixelserv-on-dd-wrt/
example of google-analytics.com
whitelist:
news.yahoo
google-analytics
googleadservice
I'll try the nslookup news.yahoo.com later.

I can't tell you about the whitelist-format, because I installed pixelserv as described and let it run.
But I eventually noticed some problem with this configuration: surfing on mobile devices became quite slow. No problems with other apps on mobile devices, no problem surfing on the computer, but with mobile phones (iphone and Android as well) and tablets. Looks like their browsers are waiting for adds / data that pixelserv does not deliver.
I then disabled pixelserv and the modified DNS and everything is fine, except for the adds which are back again.

Hi dr-jung,
I did nslookup and verified the format works.

Posted: Wed Apr 02, 2014 4:35 Post subject: dnsmasq_options - pixelserv blocks only the last conf-file
I've been running pixelserv for 3 months now, and just found out today the pixelserv only took 1 conf-file list from dnsmasq_options.
In the case of
conf-file=/jffs/dns/dnsmasq.adblock.conf
addn-hosts=/jffs/dns/dlhosts
conf-file=/jffs/dns/personal-ads-list.conf
Pixelserv only block ads domain list from personal-ads-list.conf
This dnsmasq_options was created by disable_ads.sh
Deleting personal-ads-list.conf file for now.
I found out by nslookup domain listed on both dnsmasq.adblock.conf and personal-ads-list.conf
Thanks
Not sure if this is a bug or not. just want to share. _________________ T-Plink WDR3600 AR9344 128/8 MIPS74Kc 600MHZ - (v24-sp2 23720)
