Hello all!

I just bought a new Belkin F5D7230-4, and the sticker on the unit claims it is v6002, and the software claims 6000.

The FAQ/Wiki for DD-WRT support for the F5D7230-4 shows differences between versions, but those are v1xxx, nothing like the 6xxx I seem to have.

Does anyone have any info on this new version, and is there any way I can find out how much flash and RAM it has prior to attempting to flash it with DD-WRT?

Or, should I try DD-WRT micro and then if that works, can DD-WRT show me if there is room for a larger firmware like mini or standard?

Thanks in advance.

I can't even find the v600x on the Belkin website. My Belkin firmware is v8xxx, and the latest download for North America is 3xxx!!!

Crazy. So I got on the phone, and tech support was a total zero, but I wasn't surprised.

I actually tried TFTP upload of micro, and it doesn't upload. I think that this v6002 is a different beast entirely, I'm suprised I didn't brick it!

OK, that's the first I heard that it wasn't broadcomm based. I was about to tear it apart to find out!

Thanks. I gues that's a few $10 bills down the drain, time to find a better one (these overheat and lock up, what a waste of money)

If you can do some research on the unit (maybe FCC pictures), then I can tell you what the chances are it will work.

Tell me what?

That's a list of known-good systems. When I read through here, there are zero comments on the V6 hardware, so I have to assume that very few of these are seen in the wild.

I am thinking it's not broadcomm based because I can't TFTP up new code at all, I can't even brick my unit if I tried (grin).

Starting as early as v4000 they are not Broadcom based.

I just saw version 6000 at BestBuy for $35 CAN, did any one figure out the chipset for v6000?

I browse FCC database, it looks like v6000 is using Marvell chipset, the internal photos ressemble to the Trendnet TEW432.
