Linksys WRT54G: dead after applying settings !?

Hi everyone,

I just flashed a Linksys WRT54G v5 with the v23_micro_generic.bin firmware. I followed the procedure using Vxworkskiller and everything went fine. The router was flashed with the new firmware and i had access to the dd-wrt interface.

I started to set up the router, and it rebooted 2 or 3 times without problem after i apllied the new settings. Then suddently, after setting up the router as a dhcp forwarder and applying the settings, it refused to restart.

Since then, all lights are turned on and the ethernet interface is down (no signal). I tried to use the reset button, but it didn't solve the problem.

However, the power led isn't blinking. So, according to the doc, it might be recoverable. (?)

Is this router recoverable ? Confused

I was checking out some other forums, and it seems that the only way out is by using the JTAG cable. I will attempt to find the forum that discusses it.

Isn't there a way to recover by shorting 2 pins inside ?

yes but it is MUCH MUCH more dangerous (JTAG is not Smile )
