I have to install a little wireless AP between a PC and its incoming UTP network cable so i'm gonna buy a TP-Link TL-WR710N but unfortunately it doesn't have official DD-WRT support yet.
The device based on the popular Atheros AR9331 SoC and has 32MB RAM. According the basic specs it's very similar to supported TL-WR703N but TL-WR710N (rev. v1.1 & v1.2) has twice as much flash memory (8MB).
Can I give it a try with the DD-WRT firmware for TL-WR703N? What do you think?
Btw, is there any chance for official DD-WRT support?
i dont have any sparetime atm to work on this. maybe LOM could help us out here.....else come back to me in the middle of next month when i finished my exams _________________ Forum Guidelines...How to get help

Sorry, there is no other suitable dd-wrt build (AR9331, 8MB flash) which I can modify for WRT710N. _________________ Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!

Can you modify TL-WR703N's FW? Not an issue if it doesn't use up all 8MB flash.
No, a 4MB build will not find the caldata partition if it is flashed into an 8MB flash. No caldata = no wifi. _________________ Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
