Okay, I did some more research and found that this feature is called NAT Loopback which unfortunately is not supported by WZR 1750...I know DDWRT has fixed it in it's firmware for other routers but was wondering if there is any other way to fix it on the Stock buffalo firmware until a working dd wrt comes out. Modifying the host file is not what I want since I have multiple clients....Please let me know if anyone have any suggestions...
Thanks.

the only thing which comes to my mind. maybe there is a new important nvram var which gets lost for some reason.
try the following. do "nvram erase" in cfe console and reboot. look if it boots then

Not sure if there is any update on flashing DD-wrt onto this router without bricking it but I was reading this read and saw that using US Version 2.03 (R1.02/B6.30.163-1.00-1.00) firmware may help in flashing DD-wrt to this router. I just bought one and it has this version on it.
Can you tell me how to extract it? So I can share it here.
Please update this thread if a new solution is now available?? I have found no results beyond this and other dead threads relating to the 1750dhp.

hi
flashing BUFFALO WZR-1750DHP dd-wrt to v23138 from 22700 and all revisions of dd-wrt for wzr-1750dhp
i tested and did same crash after some setting changes in configuration with this message on end
***
check_trx: start flash1.trx
Invalid boot block on disk
check_trx: exit flash1.trx
fw is broken
blinking led 2
***
and as i stated in notes before
***
i have to use a serial port in cfe do nvram erase to recover and reboot only way to stop led flash error
***
i can flash new dd-wrt version
so yes it will recover with nvram erase or 30/30/30
reset if you have a serial rs232 ttl console cable
i use serial and nvram erase to get to webflash page to flash new dd-wrt version when i see new one to try
this is my 2nd buffalo wzr 1750dhp that i test on first needs a buffalo factory recovery ram image
that a am still looking for
i use word crash not brick since i still have a control of the router true a serial cle or ethernet ip
so since this is still currently best router for the money let see if we can get it fix to working dd-wrt
as original buffalo 2.13 bios problems
no ntfs,no password more than 8 ch or extended asci, and many more limitations
but is still better router than r7000 ,more ram 256mb to 512mb,6 internal antennas so no rf switching loss for 2.4ghz and 5ghz antenna mod,no need for dual band
special expensive antennas, and heat can be fix with copper slag mod to heat sink, and 1ghz cpu is no difference in speed advantage as good as 512mb of ram
when you can not keep it cool as 70-80c for cpu is hot
by my definition of stable router as netgear r7000 is running or any other new dual core routers (bad cpu heat sink to top cpu interface only ~ 5x5mm silicon wafer area and thermal sponge as interface)
and that megawatt rf power setting is a joke for 80mw output antenna power chip at 5ghz ac band it all same amp chip in r7000 or 1750 so max is ~80mw

Actually I was going to ask you you for serial bootlog in order to fix the offset issue that obviously exists, but after reading this complete nonsense - you can keep it.
5G performance see links below. The R7000 heat pad is really cool and keeps the cpu even overclocked to 1200Mhz at around 60-65 degrees. And the biggest bullshit is the 80mW nonsense, in 5G band there are 1000mW allowed by regulation in the US/EU:-)
The additional RAM is not useful at all, but the faster CPU of the R7000 is, as routing/storage/webserver performance is much better on the R7000. _________________ KONG PB's: http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/

I got the buffalo router for 100$ on sale @ newegg. using it as an accesspoint. Got the asus rt68u as my main router. waiting for ddwrt support on both. Both whip the old mips based routers silly, so speed differences are not that big of an issue - all are good vs the old ones.

and some more info for who likes to know
http://wikidevi.com/wiki/Buffalo_WZR-1750DHP http://wikidevi.com/wiki/Netgear_R7000
if you look its basic same main parts list specially
a 5ghz power amps Skyworks SE5003L1
http://www.skyworksinc.com/Product.aspx?ProductID=1504
and this is a pdf of this amp http://www.skyworksinc.com/uploads/documents/SE5003L1_R_201785I.pdf
and if you read it you will see it is rated at 19dbm ~80mw in continuous operation at ac80 band
and good thing i seen is a FCC report and it states on pg 30 power levels and i know that max FCC is 30dbm limit not that this router have that
and in digital or switch mode duty cycle it can put
out up to 23dbm at ac80 band and this is a link to that PDF FCC report file https://fcc.io/PY3/13200233 name is RF Test Report_FCC 15.247
https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=Y&application_id=329525&fcc_id=PY313200233
at the best at 5ghz ac80 max power is ~200mw
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DBm

only difference i see in buffalo 1750 and netgear r7000 is a software implantation.and that is why i am hoping to get this router to work on dd-wrt os
20% cpu in no difference compare to double ram size
if you know how to use it.
and cpu heating is a problem i can solve by cooper ~0.740" x 0.720" x 0.128" spacer and after i can overcloc 800mhz cpu limited only by temperature
***
6 antenna connectors are offering many options better than r7000
found little time and look for FCC rf report for buffalo wzr-1750dhp and was pleasantly surprised what i saw on pg 31 it is better router then neatgear r7000 for rf output ~25dbm and looks more balance across all 3 antennas
as a suspect it ( 6 antenna model not 3 combine )
https://apps.fcc.gov/eas/GetApplicationAttachment.html?id=1966643
so read it and learn how to judge good router not by hype but by real specs , as you can see sh?? bios os and poor antenna implementation makes a bad preforming router so fix dd-wrt for it so we can use it to max potential.
***
so let see if you can get dd-wrt working on wzr1750dhp
price is better ~$130 ~EU130 and is sold world wide
and you can buy it now better ps 12V 4A
lets not swallow all that hype of wifi router ads and unbiased reviews read documentation and use what we have to max potential by open source code dd-wrt

maybe you could dump the stock CFE and serial flash of the router on 2.13 and post it here? if same was brought to brainslayer or kong's attention, I am sure they could push out a working version for it.

hi
Buffalo WZR-1750DHP Flashing with cfe tftp
i did and it help me recover my first Buffalo
WZR-1750DHP that was asking for "firmware.ram" and crashing httpd server. now is recovered and i have web page showing.
*
BrainSlayer send me a note what file to send and how to send the file
*
first you need to enter the consoly by ctrl+c . then just do
"flash -noheader : nflash1.trx" and hit enter
then you can send the file with tftp to the device. use a standard webupgrade dd-wrt image. you can't use the buffalo factory firmware here since its encrypted
*
and this how i flash dd-wrt 23204 webfile
used tftp64 set timeout to 60sec setup my static ip to 192.168.11.5 client ip to 192.168.11.1
set file location to directory where is mydd-wrt 23204, in serial console mode of cfe i paste flash -noheader : nflash1.trx and hit enter, and in 3sec
i hit button put in tftp64 screen server and seen it go
loading a new image, in cfe terminal screen.after image load i type reboot and it did it
come up on ip 192.168.1.1 so you need to change your ip for dd-wrt default page. so you do not need a "firmware.ram" image to recover your router.
http://kin.klever.net/pumpkin/binaries http://www.jounin.net/tftpd32_download.html
usually for flashing i use pumkin 2.7.3 tftp if i can, this time i used tftpd64. other tftp server can work.

setup timeserver us.pool.ntp.org,wan management port 64080,wifi 2.4ghz ng-mix,5ghz ac only,screen refresh 10sec,wifi power 1,wifi security wpa2 aes,and password
if i add ssh and port number 64022 it will not reboot.

Well if you had a look at your previous logfiles you would have noticed, that the problem is only the cpu clock, as soon as you touch the Admin page (Management.asp) your cpur clock gets set and then your problems start, it will reboot constantly modifying the cpu clock:-)
That is why I removed overclocking from my builds, because on new units overclocking works even worse than on older units, e.g. no ram clock is set. Thus my build should have worked since weeks on the 1750:-) _________________ KONG PB's: http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/
