you don't need a wholeflash.. it will take hours to flash and the opportunity for a failed flash is huge.
4 hours into it and it stalls.. not good.
you only need to flash a cfe. Once a good cfe is on the box, you can then tftp firmware and the nvram will be rebuilt.
Download a cfe, edit it with your macs, flash it, then tftp firmware.
There is no advantage with that box but you could flash a cfe for an E1000. Then you will have an E1000.
As said, no advantage with that box except for the fun factor.
