|
So basically I have my Asus Router setup with DDWRT acting as a gateway for the devices connected to its LAN, This router connects to the main cisco router/modem provided from shaw. The Shaw router/comdem has a private ip of 192.168.0.1, the DDWRT router has 192.168.0.2 and connects wireless I have 4 devices connected to the router and all can resolve and ping ans surf perfectly fine. But when I ssh into the router and attempt a nslokup or ping they fail.
I checked the gateway with route -n, its set to 192.168.0.1, as it should be, I use google dns 8.8.8.8 as it is in /etc/resolv.conf.
I can't figure out why this is happening, I thought i resolved this easily last time, and I can't seem to add torrents via URL whenever this happens since the service can't resolve names as it is housted on the router.
ANy thoughts or suggestions? |

K well thougt maybe cause I enabled openvpn it might have been causing problems but after disabling it, it was still not able to ping or resolve names past the gateway, the routing mode I swear I never had to change but I changed it from gateway to router as the description said it should be for my setup and it worked! Haha yeah! That was weird cause I swear I fight have a problem before for months. |
