I have an Engenius EOC1650 with the factory firmware 1.3.1 . I am attempting to connect to the console with telnet 192.168.1.1 9000 using a laptop on 192.168.1.10 .
I power up the device, then when the lan light comes on I can connect via telnet within the 2 seconds or so window. When I connect within the two second window I get the redboot banner.
*** Executing boot script in 1.980 seconds - enter ^C to abort.
So far so good. But when I type Control - C I get a "heart" on displayed back. I looked up the IBM PC code table and indeed it seems a small heart corresponds to hex 03 or "control-c" via the keyboard. The telnet session stays open for a few minutes but all that ever happens is that what I type is echoed back - No redboot messages, no prompt. After a few minutes the telnet session is terminated, and the EOC1650 seems to complete its boot process and the wireless interface comes up - and it works normally.
Is there some magic sequence I have to send after I connect with telnet besides just ctrl-c?
I'm using a Laptop with win xp pro for my telnet session, cabled from ethernet to the "lan" side of the POE adaptor, and the EOC1650 is connected to the POE side.
Is there something else I can try to get a redboot prompt?
I never got through redboot reprogramming, never got a prompt, and even with factory reset I could not login. Although I might have had the bad luck of having a one-off failure, (but it still works - unsecured only though) however I did not have success with this device.
