Subscribed. I've been running DD-WRT on my WRT54g's for nearly ten years and LOVE it. I was really sad to lose the features when I bought the N900. Looking through here, should I assume that Brainslayer himself is the one doing the work on this router? Very cool.
Is there a link to a directory to keep an eye on for updates?
I'm going to post a new build for the R6300/WNDR4500 when I get home. Lets see if LEDS are now fully operational on the WNDR4500. Since I don't have the 4500 only R6300 I can't test. _________________ KONG PB's: http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/

Any chance it will be a smaller build? I am still trying to get my 4500 on 3.X.
Thanks for working on this platform.

-LEDs
-WAN connection
-Speedtest if you have 100MBit or faster WAN connection
OK, I flashed your linked build on my WNDR4500v1 and it installed without issue over Brainslayer's latest 21660 build from this thread.
Results:
- LED's for LAN are still not working, same as Brainslayer's 21660 build
- WAN is working fine, same as Brainslayer's 21660 build
- Speedtest confirms I am getting my full rated speed, same as Brainslayer's 21660 build
Wish I could be more helpful. Is there a log I could post that would assist you in working on the code? _________________ WNDR4500V1

Ok, I wasn't sure if the gpios from the 6300 would do. Then lets give it another try. Just uploaded a new bin (dd-wrt.v24-K3_Netgear-2.bin) with new additional detection. This should work now for 4500V1 and V2 as well as R6300. _________________ KONG PB's: http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/

SUCCESS!!! We have working LAN LED's, thank you so much Kong!
For others benefit, here are my results:
Flashed Kong's linked build (dd-wrt.v24-K3_Netgear-2.bin) over build 21660 on my WNDR4500v1 with no issues, new build reads "DD-WRT v24-sp2 (06/04/13) kongac (SVN revision 21774)."
Tested:
-LAN status LED's working!
-WAN working as before
-Speed Test confirms I get my full ISP bandwidth
Thanks!!!
Let me know if I can assist with further testing, but this build looks pretty great so far. _________________ WNDR4500V1

Make sure you can recover, nobody flashed my WNDR4500 build before, although I'm confident it works:-)
Things to test:
-LEDs
-WAN connection
-Speedtest if you have 100MBit or faster WAN connection
That build would not load from Factory Firmware.
The message I am greeted with is:
"This firmware file is incorrect! Please get the firmware file again and make sure it is the correct firmware for this product."
I am debating about loading the myopenrouter build, and then trying to flash this .chk file. I know that the Tathagata Build is <8MB. I wonder how much he stripped out, and more importantly, WHY? The CFE I have is behaving in an odd manner.
Thanks for the build and the heads up. I will bring the laptop with the serial port home tomorrow to check what the serial console says is going on and try some different upgrade combinations.

I am not sure which device you are attempting to flash, but for what it's worth, here is the path I took on my WNDR4500V1:
Old Netgear Stock Firmware -> Tathagata February build from MyOpenRouter -> Latest Netgear Firmware -> Brainslayer 21656 -> Brainslayer 21660 -> Kong's latest build, linked above.
I'm not suggesting you attempt to repeat my path, just offering it as a history.
If you are not on the newest Netgear stock firmware, it may be useful to flash to that first. Also, stock Netgear firmware will only accept .chk files, not .bin files, I believe.
Good luck. _________________ WNDR4500V1
