Hi all I have flashed DD-WRT v24-sp2 on a TP-Link TL-WR941ND v4 and also on a TP-Link TL-WR741ND v1 works great but I don't know why with the stock firmware my Samsung i9001Android would get 19mbps wife speed now it gets 13/14 also Samsung galaxy s3 with tp link stock firmware I use to get 30mbps now 25 and for some reason I get a little better speeds on the WR741ND. I tried the wife speed test on my 3 laptops HP DELL SONY and get excellent WiFi speed so it seams to be something with the android. I thank you for Any ideas help or info. Btw I tried all channels and also disabled security still no success.

Hi sorry but you are rood I have found nothing that matches my problem, instead of all the bull you said you could have gave me a answer or the link to the topics you proudly said there is. If you feel it is a waist of time helping people free why don't you fix all the bugs ddwrt has and run it commercially. This firmware is full of bugs and not worth throwing away original firmware for this crap

Why don't you make your own firmware then if you hate DD-WRT so much? Are you totally incapable of doing it? I'm so sorry for you.

And with that attitude you'll never get help.

I do not hate ddwrt but with all respect I did not find a direct topic for my problem if I did I would not have posted and if there is and I missed it I am sorry. But I think it's your attitude that needs improving, I just asked for a little help, instead of all this couldn't have someone just answered me. And above all why dont you mind your own business and when your firmware is done please let me know so we will try it out JOKER. and I do not kneed to build my firmware as tp link's is good enough its better a simple firmware than a buggy one

Sorry, but I think DD-WRT is much better than the stock firmware.
Probably your Android phone is not as good as you believe, try to test it elsewhere...

You're not measuring the wifi speed there, but the Internet speed.

What kind of Internet line do you have?

May be you have to use Lan Speed Test instead...

OK, in this case you should try to identify if the WAN port or the wifi is responsible...

You need better routers.

Those TP-Link routers are cheap routers - they work well for basic usage

If you do a lot of internet usage with multiple devices, you need better router hardware

50mbps+ internet should have at least a 500mhz processor in the router

Stock firmware will always run quicker than 3rd party firmware

Stock firmware usually only has the basic functionality

3rd party firmware adds extra features which result in more CPU & Memory usage

Save yourself the frustration - sell your TP-Links and get a better router

Definitely one with at least 8MB flash & 64MB Ram & 500-ish MHZ processor

Also - better to get a dual-band 2.4ghz/5ghz model

You can set the wifi laptops to use 5ghz if they can and free up the 2.4 ghz channel

@DoesItMatter
Hi, I use DD-WRT for many years on my Linksys WRT54G. Only recently I recognized, that I would get 150kbit/s instead of 35kbit/s if I connect directly to my cablemodem without the Linksys WRT54G. So I suppose my hardware is somewhat outdated. Smile

I tried to find new hardware (http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices), but stumbled over the fact, that lists can not be sorted by performance or age of entries. Was I just clumsy searching or is it really not possible?

Or can you recommend any actual hardware to use as flawless with dd-wrt as my old Linksys WRT54G was? This is for powerful soho use, so I do not need enterprise features.
