I'm able to get everything working, except the only wireless security modes which work are: Disabled and WEP
If I try to use WPA Personal, or WPA2 Personal, the SSID never shows up on my wireless devices. I tried toggling back and forth between the various options, saving, applying, etc., but it consistently only broadcasts a SSID in "Disabled" or "WEP" modes.
I have another WRT54GL on the same network, set up with WPA2-Personal, and it has been working great for years with all my devices.
Wireless Network Mode: Mixed
WPA2-Personal
AES
I compared the settings on both devices, and they're the same.
I tried flipping back and forth from TKIP to AES, but I couldn't get TKIP to show up either.
I saw a post where someone mentioned flipping between TKIP and AES a couple times solved their same problem, but this didn't work for me.
On the Firmware Version section of my older/working device, it lists: "v24-sp2 (07/22/09) mini - build 12548M NEWD Eko", which appears to be the same as the firmware I'm trying to use on the new device.
If anyone has any ideas/suggestions, please reply.

That did it! Thanks!
I'm not sure ~why~ though. It was my understanding that the original 30/30/30, before flashing, was to get the device cleared/reset to defaults. The device was new, just out of the package, never used. So, I suspected it was already at 'default'. So, I didn't do this prior to flashing. But it DID flash and was mostly functional.
Or is what you're describing necessary as well? (Doing the 30/30/30 after flashing). If so, I didn't see that step in the document.
Either way, I'm all set.

1.Power cycle the router
2.Do a hard reset
3.Install the version of dd-wrt you want
4.Wait again for the process to complete and the lights to return to normal, and the webgui to be accessible at 192.168.1.1 showing the updated firmware. Give it at least 3 to five minutes.
5.Power cycle the router.
6.Do a hard reset
For future reference, a hard reset is also known as 30/30/30 _________________ (05/02/17) std - 31924

Usually because they point to the 1st version that supported the device. It is all up to the author of the guide as to what version you should use. _________________ (05/02/17) std - 31924

the wiki should be absolutely correct for your initial flash. follow it, provided you have that exact model router, and dd-wrt will be loaded.
at that point, it is up to you to decide to upgrade to the forums suggested latest stable build. the build youre running is a fallback stable build, so if youre happy with it then keep it. _________________ TP-Link TL-WR1043ND - DD-WRT std BS build 20675
