Hi All,
I am trying to flash my e4200 with the latest firmware and i read through the wiki and peacock manual. I am slightly confused and would appreciate if somebody could confirm if this will work. I am looking forward to still use my usb for streaming movies which i do on official firmware and also working openvpn.
I was successfully able to flash the firmware. After an hour of tinkering i realized that there is no media streaming option like twonkymedia on ddwrt. I love having my HD media on the nas and stream it to my led tv. I also saw some posts but none with e4200.
I am back on stock now, though i love ddwrt and my wrt300n died of age on this firmware. If somebody here is using DDwrt for streaming on E4200, Please confirm.

KingKong has media streaming (miniDLNA). _________________ 2 times APU2 Opnsense 21.1 with Sensei

E4200 V1 running freshtomato 2020.8 (bridged with LAN cable)
3 times Linksys WRT610N V2 converted to E3000 and 1 original E3000 running freshtomato 2020.8 (bridged with LAN cable)
Thanks for the info, but i believe the openvpn is broken. My requirement was an working ddwrt + dlna + openvpn. Seems none has all the three working without issues.
Also forgot to mention, my usb nas 500gb with ntfs (One single partition) failed to mount on ddwrt 1877 build. Life was much easy on ddwrt when there was no usb nas with wrt300n

Now, minidlna can be ripped and put on a USB stick if needed, then you have to write a config file for it. So this allows media server with a build that has working VPN. _________________ 2 times APU2 Opnsense 21.1 with Sensei

Thanks for the reply. So when you say usb stick it can be a usb drive attached i believe. Also will this work with a ddwrt on kong version. Would you point me to some links for having configured on e4200. Thanks
The only reason I want to flash my router is because is Because I want to share the VPN PPTP connection from my Router CISCO E4200.
I found lots of different builds in many sites including dd-wrt official site but I dont know which is the most updated one. All I know is that first I need to flash with the MINI and then with the BIG or MEGA. But I dont know which ones are the most updated ones.
I also know there is a new flash called Kong 20780M kingkong-nv60k-broadcom
But dont know if its the best one.
Do you think I could use the build version from this guy?

The latest Kong build (kingkong buld 20780) has dlna and OpenVPN is working again in that build (actually since his previous build 20575). It is perfectly stable on the E4200, I'm using it on three of those myself.

Hi! I know this is a little old topic but I have a E4200 v1 with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (04/07/12) big - build 18946M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko
I'm not able to see the MiniDLNA option. I have enabled USB, NAS, and Samba. But I don't see MiniDLNA and need to know how to get it as I want to stream off my contents of the attached HDD
