I got the EA2700 today, and wow, its completly different than all the other routers that I have serial'd of cisco.. First off they made the pins super tiny so you had to do a really good solder job, and the pin configuration was not standard it was 6pin.
Anyway, we shall prevail...Here she is in all her glory
Also this has some interesting info.. Pre-emt kernel, and nand flash.

looks like the ea2700 is using a nand flash which seem to be the hold up for the WNDR4500, and it is also using the same usb based 5ghz radio like the e2500 & e3200. _________________ [Moderator Deleted]

I believe brainslayer has been working on nand flash, and the new driver souce has the code for it....
Plus the 802.11ac router has been ported, brainslayer is just waiting for the ok from buffalo to release it... Many exciting things

The wndr4500 (nand flash) is a netgear.. The E2500 & E3200 (5ghz) are linksys.. what does buffalo have to do with anything? _________________ [Moderator Deleted]
the new buffalo ac router has nand flash and brainslayer said he has it ported since jan, that being said he also has the latest drivers from broadcom that support nand boot and the flash mtd layout.
I think this router is awesome and once the commits hit for nand in trac I will be doing some testing on this device for sure... I think the days of plain -N are being surpassed buy gig wireless ac, so nand flash is the future it seems.

I would be more interested in getting the ports finished for the 2500 & 3200 at this point. Unless they get 5ghz working on the mentioned routers, the 2700 will be in the same boat. _________________ [Moderator Deleted]

have you tried the latest build 19327 on the 3200, I think brainslayer compiled it with wl_high..
It is my understanding that all usb functions need to be enabled then insmoding wl_high into the kernel. once that happens check dmesg and see if it shows up... The code for the 5ghz driver is there, but I am thinking there is different versions of the chip at least with the 2500 v1/v2 ect.
you can try
insmod wl_high instance
insmod wl_high instance base_1 or 2 or 3
and see if any of those configs get it to display in dmesg.

we have talked about this.. Just cuz the module may be there, it needs nvram variables to support it.
is the 5ghz radio functional on your 2500? _________________ [Moderator Deleted]
Looks like this will be the best of the Cisco / Linksys models to be supported by DD-WRT. The bigger USB enabled ones are both Marvell chipsets
I did ask this earlier, but is there a specific reason that we as in the community can't get a runnning kernel on a Marvell chipset router ? Is it a lack of info and NDAs that need to be signed ? Or is it something else ?
Just curious as the new E4200v2 and EA4500 look like a great platform

Just bought the e3200 and planning to buy an ea2700, just curious when a dd-wrt update with 5Ghz is available for the e3200 (Linksys) en support for the EA2700
