Hi guys, I just got the Asus RT-N12 C1 and would like to flash it with dd-wrt. Unfortunately, there's no firmware available for C, only for B. Is it possible to flash it with the custom firmware for B? or I have to wait until C firmware will be available?

Thanks in advance!

Don't try flashing the firmware for another type, unless you want to brick your router.

If it can even be supported, you'd need to provide this info to see..

@ slobodan: I kinda bricked it already Very Happy but managed to restore with the latest asus firmware..

@ buddee: I've tried to find the information on FCC.gov, but no luck... I don't want to open it, as I consider replacing it if it isn't supported - the default firmware is crap! (can't even rename the SSID in repeater mode)

Thanks for your prompt response guys Smile

If infact it is broadcom based, then yes it could be quite possible, but the devs would need the info from the first link i posted, or a donated unit for the port.

Are these dd-wrt custom firemares?
Found this one in today's builds:

Should I load it?

not dd-wrt but based on Asus SDK.
be careful - these builds are early alpha builds and might temporary brick your router.
But until dd-wrt adds support - it's my only recomandation if you want to try a 3rd party fw - if you don't - stick with asus stock

Seems to completely identical to the B1 revision, with a nicer shell. According to DD-WRT database the B1 has 4 MB of flash, when Asus claims 8 MB.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can confirm this, so that C1 could be supported Smile
