I have reasonable wireless connections with my router (see below) using WPA2-AES. Of course, I prefer having cable connections when possible. _________________ 2 times APU2 Opnsense 21.1 with Sensei

3 times Asus RT-N16 shelved
E4200 V1 running freshtomato 2020.8 (bridged with LAN cable)
3 times Linksys WRT610N V2 converted to E3000 and 1 original E3000 running freshtomato 2020.8 (bridged with LAN cable)
I am using 18024 on an E3000 with no problems for about a month now. Lots of traffic and kids playing online games with a PC and PS3. No problems at all. My guess is you have hardware problem or a bad client connected that is causing havoc.
How far is your E3000 from the host routeur? And does the signal goes through any walls?
If I am to speak about my own router, the signal passes easily through walls (at least the 2.4 GHz) and I even have a neighbor across a small street and three-four houses to the left who is able to connect wirelessly to my router. His internet speed is not great, but he still gets a connection using my router. _________________ 2 times APU2 Opnsense 21.1 with Sensei

Ok, but there is a light difference:
Your neighbor, connects directly to your router. My problem is more on the routeur itself connecting to the host router.
