I got one of these free and saw all the stuff about WRT and maybe got prematurely excited. I was hoping that I could end up using it alongside my wireless adsl router in another room to boost the signal wirelessly. Mr. Green

Is this possible or will La Fonera still need to be wired into the ethernet Question

If you suggest any recoding - is this possible down the ethernet connection as I don't have access to the soldering skills part of my brain! Embarassed

Thanks so much for your replies! That's fantastic news.

I'm having trouble following any of the published methods. I'm using OSX so for some reason when using the coding for life version when trying to load the html in any browser won't display as it should and just stays as text.

I have better success using grammofon.pl with Stefan's version but when it locates the grammofon.pl file there's an errror at line 8 and terminal says

can't locate www/mechanize.pm in @INC (@INC contains.....) at /users/grammofon.pl line 18.

When I reset my Fonera it reverts to 0.7.0 so this is why I tried Stefan's version.

Very Happy Thanks again guys but is anyone able to help me further please?

I'm wanting to unlock the Fonera on OSX 10.4.8 but http://blog.blase16.de/index.php?url=2006/11/28/Hacking-Fonera for some strange reason won't work as the html won't display on my Mac. I've tried on XP (Bootcamp) but I get loads of errors so not sure my basic Windows knowledge is getting me anywhere. Embarassed

I've also tried http://stefans.datenbruch.de/lafonera/ (method for the 0.7.0-4) but in OSX an error shows in Terminal that Exclamation mechanize.pm can't be found. I've tried this one with grammofon.pl , shellfon.pl and fondue.pl and the same error shows.

I'm hoping someone can explain or point me in the direction of where it's already explained how to get this working? I'm hoping the help can also include details of what packages/software you used as I'm really new to this coding stuff. Thanks for your help folks!

http://www.scorpiontek.org/portal/content/view/85/36/1/4/

If that page doesn't load, try http://www.scorpiontek.org/portal/content/view/85/36/ and go to page 4. Use the first two submit buttons. Just make sure your fonera can be accessed on the default ip address. Connecting to MYplace is the same as connect thru the ethernet port (after setting up static ip on the ethernet port)

I did it that way and I run tiger as well.
