so far even with this so-called 14929 stable build, my WRT610N reboots itself after a few days.

Other version has almost unusable 5GHZ signal.

Not sure why 610N is so plagued with dd-wrt.

My main router 610NV2 is stable with big 14929, never reboots.

My other 610NV2 converted to E3000 is running std-usb-nas 15962 as client-bridge, no problems.

So try one of these Cool

BTW, I used some old lego under them to get some airflow.

Yours are v2, v1 is such a plague... Sad I haven't found a build that doesn't reboot.

Yes my wrt610nv2 is stable with 5GHZ on 14929.

I have two 5GHZ clients

A pc with linksys wusb600n

and my other router as client-bridge.

No problem.

I downgraded to 14929 last night. 5GHz is working quiet well so far. Although I had to use the AES key, TKIP didn't work. Now let's see how it does over some longer time. Thx for the help!

What's the benefit from converting to an E3000?

Hi tpost,

you have to use AES as TKIP cannot be used in a Wifi N setup.

Not much benefit from converting to E3000.

You get 60k of nvram (instead of 32k). More place for settings or a vpn certificate.

You get an updated CFE.

I see no difference between them as they are both stable.

Rebooting can be caused by low nvram space, heat and/or power issues.

I have 610 v1/v2 and e3000 with no reboots. All the routers have at least 0.25" clearance under the router for better air flow and in an open environment. I have replaced all the stock power supplies with 12V@5A power supplies; plus all routers are on either UPSes or Line Conditioners.

I have a WRT610N V1 running 14929 which seems to have absolutely no problems running 5ghz without rebooting.

Although, the 5ghz radio was not in use until this morning because I just got a new wifi card for my laptop which supports 5GHZ, I'll monitor it and report back if it crashes.

(So no crashes with 5ghz enabled but no load, and seemingly same results with some load but it hasn't been very long)

you might not notice the reboot as it's very quick and only way I can tell is from the "up time", it seems that mine reboots evey 2,3 days.

I will try the ventilation method someone mentioned in hope it solves the reboot crap...

Huh, I just noticed this. yesterday the Uptime was somewhere around 12 hours, now t's at 5.

Looks like I'm on the market for a new router, bit of a shame, I was pretty happy with the overall performance of this thing.

not forever but...

I am still running eko 15337 Mega on all my 610v1's, uptime is in months and 5GHz runs WDS and N-Only Clients (config in my sig).

I am debating of loading 15962 on the 610's, not sure yet... if it ain't broken..?

The only issue I have is with the 610 that does WDS on both wl0 and wl1 (wl1 connects to the E3000)... I had to use wl0 2.4GHZ back to the E3000 - worked fine when the main was another 610n... I'll be retiring the WRT54GS v3 soon and using a spare 610n which will eliminate the need for 2.4GHz WDS in my setup.

Thanks for your info and I will give 15337 Mega a swirl see if uptime can last for months. Maybe we should have a separate post about longest uptime version for 610n v1? hehe,
