I use my TL-WR1043ND v1.8 with the stock firmware. Great performance, no issues at all.

There's no reason to flash it with dd-wrt.

When and if, a proven stable release, with all features enabled is out, i'm gonna give it a try.

i have the 1.7 version and i use ddwrt 14896, better performance (200m distance signal almost 80% in N-mode)
with last stock firmware from tp-link web interface was dropping after 1-2 hours, now 1 week with ddwrt and everything works fine

Can you tell me your wireless setting?
I got my WR1043ND v1.8 2 days ago, using latest stock firmware and I'd set the wireless security to WPA2, AES. Whenever I'm transferring file >50mb to another laptop, the wireless drop and ethernet connection is lost. I've to reboot it each time. There is no problem if I use WPA2, TKIP or WEP. But I won't get >54mbps.

I also have 1.8 firmware. N doesn't work + after some period you will not be able to login to tp-link configuration page it refuses valid username/password combination. That is the main issue for me

Hi,

I use the firmware r16994, and the TP-1043DN V1.8. Everything ok so far not only WiFi. My laptop uses a 54Mbps G Mode adapter and my tower PC has a card with TP-Link 300Mbps N mode. Router running in mixed mode. I reach up to 1.4 megabytes in the second. Does any advice?
