Thank you, I think I have fixed Ext2/3 loading in the filesystem... I was right it gets trumped.. I am going to change the files in this forum with my mod to 17924
I created a vfat, ext2, ext3, this time to test ...

Ascott and I are still testing... I have power cycled (3) times and mine is working. Here is a screenshot of my router. However ascott is going to confirm on a few of his test routers as well. It might be something as simple as a power cycle let route boot then insert usb drive first time.
-EDIT- Testing a optware drive now... will let everyone know when I get that completed

great release and thanks for the fix fractal, kong, and others. would you guys also be working other issues currently pending for fixes such as this loopback annoyance. i've tried to put firewall code provided by phuzion however it sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't for me. i am currently testing your release on my wrt610nv2 converted into e3000. _________________ e3200 stock <- waiting for support

EDIT: 11/25 Due to FEEDBACK on ext2/3 not mounting the bins are being changed from 17920 to 17924 with fractal ext2/3 fix PLEASE TEST!
Happy Holidays!!!!!
I am glad to announce that I was able to fix USB automount and USB drive detection for HEAD release subversion. This is not a kong mod(although his efforts are awesome!!) and works as it used to with some new features and device support. Funny thing is it was a super small line of code in a haystack of over 600+ changes to svn to narrow it down, and if you read up u can see how I spent most of my thanksgiving
ok.... so..
1ST... KNOW YOUR ROUTER AND KNOW YOUR BUILD!!! I cannot stress this enough..
2nd... I am encluding NV60K, NV64K and regular K26 builds ..
(NV60K).. is for E2000/E3000/E3200/E4200
(NV64K).. is for NETGEAR WNDR-3400/4000 Routers..
Regular bin.. is for standard K26 routers..check dd-wrt wiki if unsure..
I am uploading std_usb_builds, and after I get some feedback I will update with mega builds.
wanted to update everyone and say thank you for testing, I feel the updates are really close...
Their are 2 different 17924 bins in this thread each may give different automount results...
-I will revisit the code monday, and post results of our findings as soon as they are available.
I believe the first 17924 bin in this thread automounted all FAT/NTFS ect partitions
the last bin was to address ext2/ext3 being mounted as ext4. Then I remember having to do the holiday shopping with the wife .... Hope everyone had a great holiday...

Using a E4200:
I moved to Fractal (dd-wrt.v24-17924_NEWD-2_K2.6_std_usb_nas-nv60k) from Tomato, initially I was having good results, much faster download speeds, but with spotty range. Even in the same room I would drop to 1-2/3 bars.
Last night and today (right now) wireless is completely crashed. I'm posting now on LAN with wireless being broken. Only getting 11Mbps wireless rate on the DD-WRT status page.
As I type this, wireless just came back online, it was broken for about 5-10 minutes. I'm about considering either flashing back to the latest Tomato builds, or going back to stock Linskys 1.0.0.3 firmware as I had the least amount of issues on the stock firmware.
EDIT: My original post included the wrong file name, fixed it now.
EDIT2: Back on Linksys 1.0.0.3 firmware now. Much better wireless signal strength. _________________ WRT1900AC V1 @ LEDE r4576-4.4
Basically, if you roll back that check-in, plus Fractal's memset fix in usb_hotplug.c, (which has already been accepted), that will get usb working like it was for people with opt drives and with ext2/3 filesystems as their first partition. (And I'm assuming vfat and friends, as well.)
More specifically, build with 17924, src/ruoter/disktype/detect.c rev 11093, and src/router/disktype/linux.c rev 11068.
This works for me and automounts opt drive like the old way.
Looking over changeset 17841, it seems that the addition of Ext4 support was not backward-compatible with Ext2/3 support for broadcom users who are still on the 2.6.24.111 kernel.
My suggestion is to revert that check-in until a more general solution may be found, or add preprocessor commands to only build ext4 support if linaro, otherwise don't build ext4 support.
Code:
root@wnr3500lUSB:~# cat /tmp/disktype.dump
