Please.. would you like to point me a good router to buy, maybe a new stable wireless model(300Mbps or dual-band), possibly with a well-defined JTAG and Serial recovery procedure.. i´m thinking about something in the 70-100 euro range

DLC5 was broken in the software version 3.0.2, I think I have fixed it, that why I ask if you wanted to test it.

Did anybody have any success with Asus RT-N16 and an unbuffered parallel cable?

For reference this is what else I found so far on this topic:

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...but doesn't the RT-N16 require you to use buffered mode JTAG in order to work?

Anyway, the first version of tjag that supported the RT-N16 CPU was broken for unbuffered cables. Tornado fixed it in a later version (3.0.2-RC5 if I recall).

But I'm not sure if this router (and E3000 which has the same CPU) really needs a buffered cable or it was needed just because tjtag software was broken for unbuffered cables.

There is no router requiring a buffered jtag cable but it makes it easier with one since cable length is not so critical and you get less interference.

The latest version of tjtag has support for unbuffered cable fixed, there was a bug in the previous releases.
Latest release is available from Tornado (pm him) after a $5 donation towards his development.

Thanks LOM, I think this is an important note that should be even more useful if it's posted in the JTAG Wiki (as a beginner with JTAG I found conflicting information regarding this, it was confusing).

I would have updated the Wiki page myself, but when I click on "Log in / create account" I get "Login error: There is no user by the name "JuiciPackets". Check your spelling, or create a new account". There is no option to actually create a Wiki account.

Cheers
