I am experiencing a problem with 15962/mega in an E3000, when i enable wl1 radio and try to pass some traffic throught the 5 Ghz radio, the e3000 crashes. The only way to avoid that is disabling wl1 radio.
Has anybody experienced this issue?

I don't share this experience with my E3000, but this sounds like the symptoms of not doing a proper hard reset after upgrading, which i would suggest you do.

I did a 30-30-30 after flashing. However i can try it again. Are you using the 5 Ghz radio?

Thanks

Yes, or else i wouldn't have replied. I use the 5Ghz radio with my Linksys wusb600n adapters for 2 different PC's, im using one of them right now Wink

edit: but then again, i use build 16785, but even when i used 15962 i did not have those probs.

I have an E3000. I'm using build 15962 and the 5 GHz band, without issue.

I know this does not help you. Is it possible something is wrong with the unit? Have you always had the problem or did it just start? Does it work ok with the mfg's firmware?

I've seen this.. It may be a hardware problem.

Flash back to stock firmware & test the operation of the radio.

I have tried reverting to stock firmware and that firmware 5 Ghz. radio works OK.
Flashing again to ddwrt causes the same problem, even with the default configuration and just enabling wl1 and accessing speedtest.net, the router crashes.
Anybody knows how i can see the dump to see what module is crashing?

With stock firmware?

What is the history of the router? Did you buy it new?
How long has this been a problem?

Not that I can solve the problem but I am curious. I have 3 of these (one real, two 610v2 converts). Two are in service and I have no issues at all.

I can tell you that I mistakenly used a 1.5 amp ps when I was fooling with one. It would not boot consistantly and when it did, it would crash and lock up.

Have you checked the power supply? If you got it used, it comes stock with a 2 amp ps. Even if it is the right ps, it may be failing.

Have you tried to disable the 2.4 ghz radio and only run the 5 (just for testing)?

Barryware, thanks a lot!! After trying 5 Ghz only , it worked fine. I changed the Powersupply and started to work fine in both bands!. Even the original PS was rated 2 Amps, it was not working good.

Thanks a lot again for the tip! You saved my day
