Hi all.

I see the Edimax BR-6574N is supported with v.24SP2 build 13354, which apparently uses the same platform, the Ralink RT2880.

Is it worth trying to flash my EW-7416APn, or am I likely to brick it?

Below stats are according to this: http://oldwiki.openwrt.org/Hardware(2f)Edimax.html

Platform: Ralink RT2880 SoC
Flash: 4MB
RAM: 16MB
Wireless: Ralink RT2820
Switch: None

I have one of these devices (sold as the UltraWAP N150 in Australia) that is absolutely useless. It has been reflashed with the stock Edimax firmware from the 7416APn and it's still just a paper weight.

If there is a build that I can flash to it? I would be happy to test. May also be able to get the bloke to part with it to get proper WRT support and maybe make it a bit more useful as a $150 paper weight is not useful at all.

Cheers

Just wondering if you can install this onto the ew-7416apn v2...

I have one but I would love to be able to set-up a public wireless hotspot with it, but that needs DD-WRT

Thanks a bunch!

Sorry for bumping, was just wondering if there were any updates on this -- if any of the above posters or otherwise have attempted a successful flash and whether an attempted flash would potentially brick?
