Starting to get impatient now but I understand we're in a queue.

Did they give any indication of when they could start looking at it ? Are we talking days, weeks, months ?

Here is the e-mail.

Dear JDickiez,

yes we received the dontation of your ESR9850. But I can't tell you how
long it will take for a ready firmware, we are working on the donation
one by one and we get a lot of donation a router samples in the last
time. If the firmware is ready there will be an comment in the forum in
the meantime I can only advise you to wait.

I am not pressing for a build...hehe...but has anyone determined if it is even possible for this router to have DD-WRT?

As far as i understood i already runs DD-WRT, just the added Ethernetchip doesnt work with the current build and needs a driver of some kind.
